Khanh Hoa welcomes 9 millionth tourist in 2024

At around 9:50 a.m., a Vietnam Airlines Airbus A321 carrying 180 passengers from Incheon (Korea) landed at Cam Ranh airport, marking the event of the 9 millionth tourist coming to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa in 2024.

Immediately after landing, flight VN 441 was welcomed with a water cannon ceremony. Mr. Le Huu Hoang - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of the Department of Tourism, representatives of Vietnam Airlines and Cam Ranh International Airport presented flowers to the crew and passengers.

The 8,999,999th; 9,000,000th; 9,000,001st tourists were given special gifts by the Khanh Hoa tourism industry including air tickets, accommodation vouchers at Ana Mandara Cam Ranh Resort, Nha Trang city tour vouchers, Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest products and coffee. In addition, passengers on the flight were also given many meaningful gifts.

Mr. Le Huu Hoang - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said that the event was organized to mark an important development milestone of Khanh Hoa tourism, achieving 100% of the plan set for 2024 in just 9 months. "The event took place briefly but brought visitors a joyful atmosphere, contributing to creating impressions and memories for visitors when coming to Khanh Hoa tourism", Mr. Hoang said, adding that the event also affirmed the position of the provincial tourism industry, promoting the image of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism as always an attractive and friendly tourist destination for domestic and international tourists.

In the first 9 months of 2024, Khanh Hoa province welcomed about 9 million overnight guests, an increase of 57.9% over the same period in 2023, reaching 100% of the 2024 plan. Of which, there were 3.6 million international visitors (an increase of 147.9% over the same period, exceeding the 2024 plan by 20%); 5.4 million domestic visitors (an increase of 27.2% over the same period, reaching 90% of the 2024 plan).

According to Mr. Hoang, the success comes from the effectiveness of tourism promotion and advertising organized by the province in many diverse forms right from the beginning of the year. Typically, national and international events have been successfully held in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa such as Nha Trang Sea Tourism Festival, Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival, India - Khanh Hoa Tourism Promotion Conference, Kite Awards 2024, ... and organizing tourism promotion delegations in international markets such as China, Thailand, Australia, ...

"Welcoming the 9 millionth tourist to Khanh Hoa also creates a connection between agencies, airlines, and tourism businesses in the province, contributing to building the image of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism: Friendly - Quality - Safe", Mr. Hoang expressed, thereby aiming to make Khanh Hoa tourism one of the leading destinations on the Southeast Asian tourism map, meeting the goals of Resolution 09-NQ/TW dated January 28, 2022 of the Politburo on building and developing Khanh Hoa province to 2023, with a vision to 2045.

It is expected that next week, Khanh Hoa tourism industry will organize a program to announce Khanh Hoa tourism reaching 9 million visitors, launching a tourism stimulus with the theme "Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism: Come to love" at April 2 Square, Nha Trang City./.
