On June 11, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee announced that it had issued a document directing the handling of environmental pollution in Quan Truong River.
Quan Truong River is one of the important rivers flowing through the center of Nha Trang City. However, there are currently 7 main discharge gates that are discharging domestic wastewater and rainwater from residential areas, urban areas, markets and Vinh Truong fishing port directly into Quan Truong River and Tac River.

Among these outlets, there are 6 outlets to Quan Truong River including: QN3 outlet on the East side of Quan Truong River from the stormwater drainage system for the Ha Quang 2 urban area project; X2 outlet on Vo Van Kiet - To Hieu street; outlet at Phong Chau bridge; outlet near Vinh Truong fishing port area; outlet along Nguyen Van Linh street and Hon Ro port; outlet along My Gia - An Khanh urban area and outlet to the head of Tac River bridge in Dat Lanh residential area.
Worryingly, many households and businesses have arbitrarily discharged untreated domestic wastewater into the public drainage system, causing water pollution. Especially in some areas such as the drainage system on Vo Thi Sau Street, Vinh Truong Market area, Vinh Truong fishing port, there is no pumping station system, separation well, causing pollution at the discharge area.

Khanh Hoa Province requests the Provincial Development Project Management Board and Nha Trang City People's Committee to urgently study the proposal of the Department of Agriculture and Environment to proactively implement and handle the contents within their authority to ensure a thorough solution to the pollution problem at Quan Truong River and Tac River.
At the same time, Nha Trang City People's Committee needs to focus on directing relevant units and localities to regularly inspect and strictly handle acts of installing untreated wastewater discharge pipes and discharging wastewater directly into Quan Truong and Tac rivers according to their authority or report to competent authorities for handling in accordance with regulations.
The outlet from Road No. 7 to Quan Truong River is mainly for draining rainwater, however, to prevent local flooding for nearby residential areas, it is connected to a common drainage system (rain, wastewater) causing pollution at the outlet.

The Department of Finance is also assigned to continue researching and considering the proposal to allow the preparation of a report proposing an investment policy for a project to treat wastewater pollution sources of the drainage system in Nha Trang city.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to monitor and urge units to implement this content, take the initiative in monitoring, inspecting and handling the activities of urban area projects that are being deployed and put into operation and discharge waste into Quan Truong River in accordance with approved content.
Quan Truong River is one of the branches of Cai River Nha Trang. The river is about 15 km long, divided into two main branches: the eastern branch (main branch) is 9 km long and the western branch (also known as Tac River) is 6 km long. Quan Truong River flows through the communes of Vinh Trung, Vinh Hiep, Vinh Thai, Phuoc Dong and 3 wards of Phuoc Long, Phuoc Hai, Vinh Truong, then flows into the sea. This river not only plays a role in regulating the air, but is also a place associated with the memories of many generations of Nha Trang people, witnessing the development and change of this land.
