Khanh Hoa seeks to attract tourists from Kazakhstan and other CIS countries.

Anex Vietnam Trading and Tourism Company Limited (Anex Vietnam) organized a survey and product experience event for 150 leading travel agencies in Kazakhstan and CIS countries, taking place from October 5-14.

A delegation of leading travel agents from Kazakhstan and the CIS visited Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa to survey and experience its tourism products.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Tan, General Director of Anex Vietnam, said that throughout the program, the delegation will conduct on-site surveys of tourism businesses and a number of tourist attractions and entertainment venues with the aim of understanding tourism potential and developing suitable tourism programs to bring tourists from these countries to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.

Notably, the tourism promotion workshop, which opened on October 9th, was held in a B2B format, providing an opportunity for hotels to directly introduce their unique products and services to travel agents from Kazakhstan and other CIS countries, enhancing product recognition and optimizing sales for the 2024-2025 tourism season and subsequent years.

"Building on the success of tapping into the Kazakhstan and CIS tourist markets over the past two seasons, we are organizing this workshop with the effort to expand destination promotion, spread the image of Vietnamese tourism strongly to these markets, and prepare for the tourism seasons in the coming years," Mr. Tan said.

A workshop to promote tourism in the Kazakhstan and CIS markets was held in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa, on October 9th.

In the post-pandemic context and amidst global uncertainties, from October 2022 to the present, Anex Vietnam has continued to operate charter flights from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa with a frequency of 5-6 flights per week, bringing the total number of tourists to over 75,000 by August 2024. Currently, there are 14 flights per week from Kazakhstan to Cam Ranh airport, of which Anex Vietnam cooperates with Vietjet to operate 4 flights per week.

In mid-2023, Vietnam and Kazakhstan signed a bilateral visa exemption agreement for citizens holding ordinary passports, allowing stays of no more than 30 days. Thanks to this favorable arrangement, in 2023, Khanh Hoa province welcomed over 50,000 visitors from Kazakhstan and over 10,000 visitors from other Central Asian countries. In the first nine months of 2024, the province is expected to receive nearly 90,000 visitors from Kazakhstan and 17,000 from Uzbekistan, among others.

Hotels in Khanh Hoa directly introduce their products and services to travel agents from Kazakhstan and other CIS countries.

Ms. Le Thi Quyen, Business Director of Ibis Styles Nha Trang Hotel, highly appreciated the potential of the Kazakhstan and CIS markets due to their stable customer base. The workshop provided an opportunity for the hotel to introduce its tourism services to partners. “This is also a chance for us to understand the needs and preferences of tourists, thereby adjusting our service methods, cuisine, and room pricing policies, with the goal of stimulating tourism and building an image of a safe and friendly destination,” Ms. Quyen shared.

According to Alex Maximov, representative of Deniz Tour (Kazakhstan), Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa is one of the most attractive destinations in Vietnam, with a mild and cool climate, beautiful beaches, and well-invested and high-quality tourism infrastructure. Khanh Hoa also has accommodation facilities along the coast, on islands, and right in the center of Nha Trang city, suitable for the needs of Kazakhstani tourists. However, tourists are facing difficulties in understanding the local culture due to language barriers and a lack of direct flights.

Tourists from Kazakhstan and other CIS countries are increasingly fond of Vietnam.

Sharing more about the Russian-speaking tourist community, Mr. Bui Quoc Dai - Deputy CEO of Anex Vietnam, said that this group of tourists is very interested in Khanh Hoa - Vietnam but faces difficulties because there are not many direct flights from their country to Vietnam and Khanh Hoa.

"This is a potential customer group for the Vietnamese market, as their stay is often more than 10 days for a vacation, and they usually choose 3-5 star accommodations," Mr. Dai observed. Among the travel agencies surveyed in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa this time, there were 15 from Kyrgyzstan, who wanted direct flights from their country to Khanh Hoa, as currently there are only direct flights from Kyrgyzstan to Phu Quoc.

Besides direct flights, Mr. Dai also expressed his hope that accommodation facilities and destinations in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa must ensure quality standards and develop new products to attract and retain tourists. He hoped for cooperation among various sectors, management agencies, and businesses in the tourism industry to promote international tourist markets.
