Inauguration of 5 North-South Expressway component projects on April 19

The Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway construction investment project is 57.8 km long and is invested by Vietnam Expressway Corporation – VEC. On April 19, 18.32 km of Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway will be technically opened to traffic, before the main route is put into operation on April 28.

5 expressway projects will be technically opened to traffic on April 19

Firstly, the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi section component project of the North - South Eastern Expressway Construction Project in the 2021-2025 period is invested by the Thang Long Project Management Board.

This 35.28 km long project will be technically opened to traffic on April 19 and the main route will be put into operation on April 28.

Second, the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section component project of the North - South Eastern Expressway Construction Project in the 2021-2025 period is invested by the Thang Long Project Management Board.

This 54.2 km long project will be technically opened to traffic on April 19 and the main route will be put into operation on April 28.

Third, the Bung - Van Ninh section component project of the North - South Eastern Expressway Construction Project in the 2021-2025 period is invested by Project Management Board 6.

This 48.84 km long project will have its entire 35.28 km technically opened to traffic on April 19, and the main route will be put into operation on April 28.

Fourth, the Van Phong - Nha Trang section project under the North - South Eastern Expressway Construction Project in the 2021-2025 period is invested by Project Management Board 7. This 83.35 km long project will be inaugurated and 70.35 km will be put into use on April 19.

Fifth, the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway Construction Investment Project, 57.8 km long, is invested by the Vietnam Expressway Corporation – VEC. On April 19, 18.32 km of the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway will be technically opened to traffic, before the main route is put into operation on April 28.

Rach Mieu main bridge closed

In addition to the 5 expressway projects mentioned above, also on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the Ministry of Construction will proceed with the main bridge of Rach Mieu Bridge at the location of the 2 towers P19 and P20. This is a project invested by the My Thuan Project Management Board.

Previously, in Official Dispatch No. 33/CD-TTg dated April 7, 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, government agencies, and Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to urgently review and synthesize important projects, major works of the sector, field and provinces (transportation, energy, industry, hospitals, schools, irrigation, digital infrastructure, climate change response, culture...) that meet the prescribed conditions and are expected to start construction and be inaugurated to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, and send them to the Government Office for synthesis and reporting to the Prime Minister before April 12, 2025; report information on projects (name, type, scale...).

It is expected that groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies will be held online simultaneously nationwide on April 19, 2025.
