Inauguration of the road connecting Provincial Road 163 with Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway

On the morning of September 27, in the competitive atmosphere to welcome the 1st Congress of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, Lao Cai province held the inauguration ceremony of the road connecting Provincial Road 163 with Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway. This key traffic project belongs to the period 2021 - 2025, has special significance in creating momentum for local socio-economic development.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Trinh Xuan Truong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Tran Huy Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Giang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Tuan Anh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Giang Thi Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

Also attending were comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of provincial departments, branches, sectors, and mass organizations, along with a large number of workers, laborers, and people in the area.

The road project connecting Provincial Road 163 with Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway belongs to the IC13 Interchange Project, approved for investment in August 2021. The route is 6.15km long, designed on an urban road scale with a 20.5m wide roadbed, 10.5m wide road surface and 5m wide sidewalks on each side. The road surface structure is asphalt concrete.

The project has a total investment of 362.8 billion VND from the central and local budgets, of which the connecting road alone is 282.9 billion VND. To complete the project, the project has recovered 27.3 hectares of land from 394 households. Despite facing many difficulties, such as: the impact of the epidemic, fluctuations in material prices, adverse weather, especially the impact of storm No. 3 (Yagi) in 2024, but with the determination of the entire political system and the consensus of the people, the project was completed on schedule.

Comrade Tran Huy Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee delivered a speech at the inauguration ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Tran Huy Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the project's inauguration and commissioning has a particularly important meaning, a vivid demonstration of the spirit of solidarity, aspiration to rise up, and determination to realize the goal of building Lao Cai to develop rapidly and sustainably. The project will gradually complete the technical infrastructure system, creating a basis to attract investment, develop urban areas, commercial services, and industry along the route. On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Tran Huy Tuan acknowledged and commended the efforts of the investor, contractors, the coordination of departments, branches, and especially the consensus and support of the people in the project area.

To maximize the effectiveness of the project, Mr. Tran Huy Tuan suggested that the Department of Construction and the investor should do a good job of management and maintenance to ensure safety and technical standards during operation. At the same time, it is necessary to continue researching the synchronous connection of the route with other traffic axes and call on businesses to seize opportunities and invest in potential areas along both sides of the route, bringing high added value to the locality.

At the end of the ceremony, the provincial leaders, investors, contractors and localities performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially putting the project into operation and use in the joy and excitement of all the people (photo above).
