According to experts, Tuyen Quang currently leads the country in forestry economics with a total planted forest area of approximately 232,000 hectares. Of this, more than 96,500 hectares have been granted sustainable forest management certification (FSC). Annual harvesting output reaches about 1.4 million cubic meters. Despite its great potential, the reality is that most of the current area consists of small timber forests, resulting in an economic value that is not commensurate with its potential.
During the meeting, scientists emphasized that to increase income per unit area, organizations, businesses, and forest-planting households need to change their production mindset, focusing on improving and transforming small-timber forests into large-timber forests. Currently, IKEA Group has collaborated with Woodsland JSC to build a forest planting demonstration model in Trung Son commune.

This is a practical learning and observation point for forest owners to access advanced technical processes. Following the survey, the relevant parties committed to supporting the people through activities such as: providing in-depth technical support on sustainable forest farming; supplying high-quality forestry seedlings; and connecting value chains for forest owners who wish to participate in the project.
The project's implementation helps to increase the economic value for forest owners and the forestry industry, while also contributing to environmental protection and sustainable development.
