When the highland principal wrote a 'digital transformation story'

As the head of the school, realizing the importance of digital transformation to improve the quality of education , Principal Nguyen Thi Thu Hien is determined to build a digital school model, changing the way of teaching and educating preschool children through the application of technology.

Building chatbots and digitizing learning materials

Sharing with VTC News Electronic Newspaper reporter, teacher Nguyen Thi Thu Hien said that recently, she and members of the board of directors of Huong Sen Kindergarten have together built more than 600 learning materials (more than 300 stories, poems, 250 Steam activities, 90 video lectures), 2 chatbots and digitized 100% of management records.

“My solution focuses on improving the capacity and changing the mindset of teachers in the field of using digital tools and teaching support tools to reduce paper records and have more time for child care and education,” Ms. Hien shared.

The proof is that with the Google Drive tool used to manage all records and plans, it has helped reduce more than 70% of paper records. In addition, the school digitizes 100% of management records, libraries and digital learning materials with many video lectures, along with chatbots "Preschool Teacher" and "Principal Assistant" to effectively support teachers and parents.

Ms. Quach Thi Van, Vice Principal of Huong Sen Kindergarten, shared: “Previously, storing records as well as sharing documents was quite complicated and time-consuming. But since the school started using Google Drive, sharing documents has been very fast and convenient. With just 1-2 steps, such as sharing and assigning permissions to teachers, documents can be shared quickly and stored scientifically.”

Not only in management, technology also helps reduce the workload for teachers, parents closely monitor the learning process, and children become more creative every day.

“The technology that Ms. Hien has introduced is very useful for teachers, such as preparing lesson plans and planning as well as storing documents. Previously, storing documents and sharing documents was complicated and time-consuming,” said teacher Tran Thi Thao, Huong Sen Kindergarten, Tuyen Quang province.

In addition to building a digital learning resource warehouse, teacher Nguyen Thi Thu Hien also applies modern AI models to practical applications.

“We use tools like Chat GPT, Google AI to write an application that integrates chatbots. This AI model will be trained to build lesson plans and work plans for teachers, reduce paper documents and have more time to take care of and educate children,” teacher Hien added.

Outstanding individuals in digital transformation

Ms. Hien said that when working in a digital environment, thinking is very important. “The most difficult thing is changing the teachers’ thinking. Because the teachers feel apprehensive when working in a digital environment, not working directly,” Ms. Hien said.

However, through the process of approaching, training and changing mindset, more than 20 teachers of Huong Sen Kindergarten have felt more confident in applying digital transformation.

At the recent Vietnam Digital Transformation Award Ceremony 2025, teacher Nguyen Thi Thu Hien was one of three outstanding individuals who have made great contributions to the national digital transformation. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien was awarded and honored as “Outstanding Digital Transformation Leader”.
