On the evening of May 23rd, at 30/10 Square in Quang Ninh province, the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with Quang Ninh province, held the opening ceremony of the 2026 People's Public Security Military, Martial Arts and Sports Games - Region I.
Attending and directing the ceremony were Comrade Le Quoc Hung, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Public Security Ministry, Deputy Minister of Public Security, and Head of the Steering Committee of the Sports Festival; leaders of the professional departments of the Ministry of Public Security; and members of the Steering Committee of the Sports Festival.
General Le Quoc Hung, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Minister of Public Security, and Head of the Organizing Committee of the Sports Festival, delivered the opening speech.
Representing Quang Ninh province were Comrade Quan Minh Cuong, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, and Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, along with representatives from provincial departments, agencies, armed forces, and related units.
The sports festival brought together 17 military and martial arts teams and 63 sports teams, with the participation of more than 1,900 officers, soldiers, and athletes from police units and localities nationwide.
Cultivate character and maintain strict discipline.
In his opening remarks at the Sports Festival, Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung emphasized that improving the quality and effectiveness of physical education, sports, military regulations, and martial arts is of particular importance in building a truly clean, strong, regular, elite, and modern People's Public Security force, meeting the requirements of the mission in the new era of national development.
Over the years, the Party Committee of the Central Public Security Department and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security have paid close attention to and provided thorough guidance on physical training, sports, military regulations, and martial arts. This has contributed to improving the physical fitness, courage, and fighting spirit of the officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security.
Regularly organizing sports competitions is of practical significance in promoting physical training, improving health, and strengthening discipline and order within the force. It also provides an opportunity for officers and soldiers to interact, learn from each other's experiences, strengthen solidarity, and compete to achieve high results in their work, combat, and force building.
The Deputy Minister of Public Security requested that the participating teams compete with high determination, demonstrating willpower and courage, but also maintaining absolute humility and unity; strictly adhering to the regulations, rules, and guidelines of the Organizing Committee; and spreading the spirit of "Unity - Honesty - Nobility - Progress".
Athletes are required to strive to compete to the best of their abilities, contributing to the effective implementation of the "Three Best" emulation movement: Most disciplined, most loyal, and closest to the people. The Organizing Committee, the Judging Panel, and the referees are required to work seriously, responsibly, fairly, and objectively; ensuring absolute safety in terms of facilities, weapons, equipment, and organization.
Through the sports competition, the results of the training and development of the People's Public Security force are more clearly recognized; at the same time, it showcases the strength, courage, and spirit of serving the Fatherland and the people of the officers and soldiers.
In his welcoming remarks at the Sports Festival, Mr. Le Van Anh, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that Quang Ninh province is honored to cooperate with the Ministry of Public Security in organizing the 2026 Military, Martial Arts and Sports Festival of the People's Public Security - Region I. This is an honor for the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Quang Ninh province, and also serves as encouragement for the locality to continue to fulfill its responsibilities in ensuring national defense and security, building and protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.

Comrade Le Van Anh emphasized that the People's Police Military, Martial Arts and Sports Festival is not only a grand celebration of the strength, will, and courage of the People's Police officers, but also a place where the spirit of solidarity, discipline, loyalty, and the aspiration to contribute of the People's Police force converge.

The opening ceremony was organized on a grand and solemn scale, reflecting the vibrant spirit of competition, solidarity, courage, and discipline of the regular, elite, and modern People's Public Security force.
The opening ceremony consisted of three parts: a welcoming artistic performance, the formal ceremony, and a live demonstration of military strength. The program began with a drum performance by 1,000 students from the People's Police Academy, followed by a military music performance combined with gun and flag dances performed by officers and soldiers of the People's Police Ceremonial Unit and the Mobile Police Command.
The live-fire demonstration program was elaborately staged, combining synchronized sound, lighting, modern equipment and vehicles, and professional performance techniques. Performances such as driving specialized cars and motorcycles; cavalry demonstrations; People's Police martial arts; handling operational situations; and large-scale synchronized demonstrations involving over 1,500 officers and soldiers left a lasting impression on the audience.

The performance groups, live-fire forces, and technical systems coordinated seamlessly, ensuring adherence to the script, schedule, and requirements. The high-level technical performances, demanding close and precise coordination, received enthusiastic applause from the local people and tourists.
The teams competed in various events including military training, obstacle course running, martial arts, 7-a-side men's football, and pickleball. Specifically, the military training and obstacle course running events were held at the National Counter-Terrorism Training Center in Dong Mai Ward; the martial arts competition took place at the 5,000-seat multi-purpose gymnasium in Quang Ninh Province, Tuan Chau Ward; the 7-a-side men's football tournament was held at the Song Minh artificial turf football complex in Cao Xanh Ward; and the pickleball competition was held at various venues in Ha Long Ward.
Within the framework of the Games, athletes competed in various specialized events such as the 38-movement martial arts form, obstacle course, shooting, martial arts sparring, breaking techniques, and other recreational sports. The competitions and award ceremonies were held continuously until May 28th.
The sports festival is not only an activity involving sports, military skills, and martial arts competitions, but also an opportunity to affirm the requirements of regular training, strict discipline, and unwavering resolve of the People's Public Security officers in their nhiệm vụ of protecting security and order and serving the people.
