According to Nguyen Khanh Hiep, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, following the guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Provincial People's Committee, the department has proactively implemented plans and guided communes, wards, special zones; historical sites and businesses operating in the fields of culture and sports in the province to effectively organize activities celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year. “The activities were organized with rich content and diverse forms, creating a vibrant atmosphere of emulation throughout the province. This promoted the dissemination and education of revolutionary traditions, awakened national pride, and strengthened the people's confidence in the Party's leadership. At the same time, it encouraged cadres, Party members, and all strata of the people to actively participate in labor and production emulation, contributing to the successful achievement of the socio- economic development goals for 2026,” Mr. Nguyen Khanh Hiep said.
The highlight of the series of activities was the New Year's Eve art program combined with fireworks, themed "Spring in An Giang 2026," held on the night of the 29th of the Lunar New Year in Rach Gia and Long Xuyen wards. The program attracted approximately 12,000 live viewers and hundreds of thousands more via ATV broadcasts of An Giang Provincial Newspaper and Radio & Television. The meticulously staged performances praised the glorious Party, the great President Ho Chi Minh, and the love for the homeland, country, and people of An Giang during the period of accelerated industrialization and modernization. The performances carried profound spiritual meaning and vividly reflected the positive changes in the socio-economic life of the locality. Ms. Le Thuy Hang, a resident of Rach Gia ward, shared: "This year's art program was spectacularly staged, and the fireworks display was breathtaking. I hope that in the new year everything will go smoothly, that people will prosper in their businesses, and that life will become increasingly prosperous."
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Dong, Director of the Provincial Center for Culture and Arts, in keeping with the festive atmosphere of the Lunar New Year, the center organized many activities to serve the people, such as the photo exhibition "An Giang's Aspiration to Reach Further - Steadfastly Moving Forward with the Party, Celebrating a Victorious Spring" in Rach Gia and Long Xuyen wards; mobile film screenings in Khanh Binh and Nhon Hoi communes; and art programs for the people on the nights of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of Tet... The content of the programs was rich, harmoniously combining traditional and modern art, creating a joyful atmosphere imbued with national identity.
Alongside cultural and artistic activities, sports and physical education activities were organized enthusiastically and widely, attracting a large number of athletes and the general public. Emphasis was placed on visual propaganda and promotion. Central roads and administrative areas were decorated with banners, posters, and slogans celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year, creating a bright and cheerful appearance during the Tet holiday. Through these activities, the province integrated the promotion of the unique historical and cultural values of the locality, contributing to the promotion of trade, services, tourism, and attracting investment.
Organizing activities to celebrate the Party and the Lunar New Year is an opportunity to strengthen national unity, create spiritual motivation for the entire province to enter 2026 with new enthusiasm, new confidence, and determination to successfully implement political tasks, the resolutions of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, and the resolutions of the 14th National Party Congress.
