On January 20th, in Dien Bien , a delegation from the Department of Military Equipment, General Department of Engineering, led by Colonel Bui Huy Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Military Equipment (General Department of Engineering), inspected safety work at Warehouse K79, Logistics and Engineering Department of Military Region 2.

According to the report, Warehouse K79, Logistics and Technical Department of Military Region 2, is responsible for managing, preserving, maintaining, and storing a large quantity of weapons, equipment, and ammunition (W&E), diverse in type and quality, most of which were manufactured many years ago, with some types of W&E over 50 years old, gradually deteriorating in quality, significantly affecting management, preservation, and storage.

However, the warehouse system is fundamentally and solidly constructed, with no cracks or subsidence in the walls. 100% of the warehouses have heat-resistant ceilings and are fully equipped with supporting facilities and equipment (explosion-proof bunkers, direct lightning protection systems, sensors, water tanks, etc.). The fire-fighting water system and roof cooling system are functioning well, ensuring absolute safety for the warehouse storage system. The technical support workshops for technical products and ammunition are built according to regulations with complete equipment, machinery, and standardized signage, meeting the technical support needs for the mission.

In particular, the staff is well-trained, 100% hold university degrees, possess good moral character, are exemplary, energetic, enthusiastic, responsible, highly disciplined, and ready to accept and successfully complete assigned tasks; the ordnance technical staff is highly skilled and has received basic training in technical support for equipment, machinery, and devices, meeting mission requirements well; the combat fortifications system is constantly strengthened; coordination in fire prevention and control is always emphasized; the breakthrough "Improving training quality" is successfully implemented, especially training for technical specialists with 35 people/79 hours, achieving 100% of the 2024 plan; vocational skills assessment was conducted with 25 people/11 days, 100% met the requirements, with over 85% achieving good or excellent results...

Concluding the inspection, Colonel Bui Huy Ngoc emphasized: Warehouse K79 is neatly and tidily planned, with weapons and equipment arranged scientifically and conveniently for transportation and relocation; the warehouse is clean, airy, and well-maintained; the record-keeping system is complete and clearly documented; the technical staff have a firm grasp of their professional expertise and the regulations of all levels regarding safety rules, meeting the requirements of the mission well.

On behalf of the inspection team, Colonel Bui Huy Ngoc also noted that Warehouse K79 should continue to effectively direct fire prevention and control, including forest fires; strictly maintain the duty roster, especially during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake; prioritize patrol and guard duties; actively promote awareness and responsibility among officers, staff, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers regarding industry regulations as well as the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, and military discipline; and make good preparations in terms of personnel and equipment, closely monitor the local security situation, and be ready to effectively handle any arising situations...

According to the plan, the inspection team from the Department of Military Equipment, General Department of Engineering, will continue to inspect safety measures at Warehouse K28, Logistics and Engineering Department of Military Region 2.
