(NLDO) - Returning to Ban Phung, cooking a delicious meal for the children, Khoai Lang Thang dreams of how to propagate and raise awareness so that children in the highlands can study properly.
Recently, the 4-episode series about life in Ban Phung (Hoang Su Phi district, Ha Giang province) by Vlogger Dinh Vo Hoai Phuong (Khoai Lang Thang) was enthusiastically received by the online community because of its humane stories.
First, Khoai feels lucky and thanks the audience for watching and sympathizing with the clips that Khoai and his friends recorded together.
Khoai is very happy to read many positive comments from everyone. Khoai realizes that to bring joy and happiness to others, it does not necessarily have to be too big, sometimes it is just a tiny thing that depends on one's ability to do.
Actually, Khoai has been back to many places, not just Ban Phung. This time, Khoai's group simply had a plan to go to a remote area to cook a delicious meal for the children. Khoai's group stopped by Ban Phung because they promised the children that they would return, even though that promise would take more than 4 years to fulfill. In addition, Khoai also wanted to return to see what the place they had visited many years ago was like now? It was that simple, without any elaborate preparations.

When I was a child in the countryside, every summer I met the Green Summer campaigners and Khoai really enjoyed the feeling of eating the strange dishes they brought. Those were dishes that Khoai had seen on TV, in books and newspapers... and dreamed of trying once. Khoai will always remember the feeling of the first time he ate the delicious dishes of other regions that the Green Summer campaigners treated his fellow countrymen to.
And Khoai thinks that when he cooks such dishes for the children, it doesn't have much material value but certainly brings spiritual value. Firstly, the children will have days of fun and relaxation. Secondly, they will eat delicious, strange dishes that they have never tried before. Those will be the memories the children will have when they remember the Khoai group. Khoai feels very happy to bring those small joys to the children.
Like Khoai shared in the clip, I am easily moved by sincere treatment. In Ban Phung, people treated me to meals with chickens and ducks raised under the floor, and vegetables were also wild vegetables from the forest and streams, picked and stir-fried with a little pork fat. Rice was also cooked from rice grown by the uncles and aunts on the fields. Those were not luxurious dishes but were the most precious dishes that people could have in their homes.
Not only do they treat their guests with the utmost respect, the people there are also very caring and attentive to them. For example, when they know Khoai cannot drink alcohol, they will buy him soft drinks or because they are afraid that he will be shy, they will buy him a new set of chopsticks. Even though it is just a small thing, Khoai is very grateful because those things show the special care that the people have for him and they try to give him the best meal. Because of those simple things, Khoai is very touched and appreciates the feelings of the people in Ban Phung.
Except for a few newly built houses, Ban Phung has not changed much. People here still farm, their children also go to school but they stop after 9th grade. Partly because the school is too far from home, it takes about 2 hours by motorbike, about 6 hours by bicycle. If they study, they have to stay in a boarding school in town but the children do not know how to get to town. It is very difficult for people to send their children to school because of the lack of conditions, not only in terms of money but also in terms of information.

Seeing the children skipping school, Khoai felt helpless. The reason why the children skip school is not simply because of lack of money but partly because of the awareness of the people here. People do not attach much importance to studying at high school or higher.
Ethnic minorities living in mountainous, remote and isolated areas have the same difficulties. Because of the remoteness of their living places, their lives are slower… Khoai will try to spread the word so that people understand the importance of education.
Currently, the State has many policies to support the education of ethnic minorities and people living in remote areas. But Khoai thinks we need to promote more so that children can study properly, return to serve their villages, and from there, other children can follow suit and study further.

Honestly, that feeling was a bit awkward, Khoai was embarrassed and Khoai knew Khanh was embarrassed too. Both of them were embarrassed so they spoke hesitantly. But after a few hours of talking, Khanh felt natural and happy again. The next day, the brothers talked to each other more comfortably.
No. Khanh had absolutely no idea that Khoai had come to visit. Only when Khoai went to look for Khanh's house, Khoai passed by her house without Khoai knowing, and went all over the village to look for her. The whole group was so excited that Khanh went out to look and recognized Khoai from afar, but did not dare to call out to him right away, but only dared to sit there and wait for Khoai to recognize him. She was already sitting right at the door, her figure small...
Khoai and Khanh reunite
The dream of going to the district to live, work to earn money to support the family, to buy a TV is not only Khanh’s but also that of many children in Ban Phung. They only dream of getting there, not thinking further than having a house, a car; becoming a doctor, an engineer. Their living conditions do not give them many opportunities to interact with the outside world, so their dreams are simple and small. But life is like that, they will grow up and their dreams will change over time...
