Hanoi achieves a double victory at the 2025 World Tourism Awards.

Hanoi's honor at the World Travel Awards is a worthy recognition of the city's efforts in building a green and friendly tourism environment, an attractive destination for tourists.

Hanoi, the capital city, continues to affirm its position on the world tourism map, having recently been honored as Asia's Leading City Destination and Asia's Leading City Destination for Short Stays at the World Tourism Awards 2025.

This is well-deserved recognition for Hanoi's efforts in building a green and friendly tourism environment, making it an attractive destination for tourists.

Previously, at the 12th General Assembly of the Tourism Promotion Organization of Global Cities (TPO) held in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi was honored in the "Sustainable Tourism" category within the framework of the TPO Best Awards 2025.

Time Out magazine (UK) included Hanoi in its top 7 most beautiful autumn destinations in Asia, while the Telegraph Travel Awards 2025, organized by the Telegraph (UK), also named Hanoi among the world's best cities in 2025. Travel and Leisure magazine (USA) honored Hanoi as one of its 15 dream destinations with reasonable prices.

What sets Hanoi tourism apart is the way the capital city exploits and celebrates its cultural values ​​and heritage.

Historical sites are being given a new lease of life with attractive tours. One example is the "Sacred Night" tour at Hoa Lo Prison, where visitors not only hear stories about history but also feel the indomitable spirit of the revolutionary soldiers.

Or consider "Decoding Thang Long Imperial Citadel," a program that takes visitors on a journey back in time to the 1,000-year-old capital, exploring the mysteries hidden within each layer of soil and each ancient brick.

The "Essence of Learning" program at the Temple of Literature - National University recreates the atmosphere of the past, with scholars in long robes walking under trees and on the examination stage. Meanwhile, "Ngoc Son - Mysterious Night" offers a magical experience amidst the shimmering lights of Ho Guom Lake… These tourism products not only attract visitors during holidays but also create lasting appeal, transforming each trip into a memorable cultural journey.

Besides tourism products at historical sites, suburban districts like Soc Son are developing sports tourism, while Ba Vi focuses on community-based tourism combined with healthcare. The Mien village community destination in Ba Vi has become a typical model, allowing tourists to experience living with the local people.

Furthermore, the "South Thang Long Heritage Route" connecting Hanoi city center with Thanh Oai, Ung Hoa, and My Duc opens up a new direction, exploiting the tourism potential of suburban areas. River tourism along the Red River, specifically the Chuong Duong Do-Bat Trang-Chu Dong Tu Temple route, promises to offer a fresh perspective on the capital city from its mother river.

Hanoi's tireless efforts in the tourism industry have been recognized. For three consecutive years, from 2022 to 2024, Hanoi has been honored with awards from the World Travel Awards – "the Oscars of the global tourism industry" – with titles such as: Vietnam's Leading Cultural Destination, Asia's Leading City Destination 2024, and Asia's Leading City Destination for Short Stays 2024.

These awards are not only a source of pride for the tourism industry but also for all the people of the capital city, affirming that Hanoi is not only beautiful in the eyes of Vietnamese people but also shines on the world tourism map.

According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in the first nine months of 2025, the city welcomed 26.07 million visitors, an increase of 23.8%; total revenue reached 98.36 trillion VND, an increase of more than 20% compared to the same period in 2024. Of these, international tourists accounted for 5.54 million visitors, an increase of 26% compared to the same period in 2024.

Currently, Hanoi has 3,761 accommodation establishments with more than 71,256 rooms, including 85 hotels and apartment complexes rated 1-5 stars. The city also has nearly 2,700 travel agencies and businesses, and more than 9,400 tour guides.

With its solid foundation, professional team, unique products, and application of modern technology, Hanoi has the potential to become a leading destination not only in Asia but also globally.

To maintain its growth momentum, Hanoi aims to simultaneously improve the effectiveness of state management, develop new products, and strongly promote the image of the capital city. Management focuses on building a safe, civilized, and friendly tourism environment.

In terms of tourism products, Hanoi aims for diversity and uniqueness. The city promotes agricultural and rural tourism; community tourism linked to traditional culture; and develops night tourism, adventure sports tourism, and experiential tourism using virtual reality technology.

In particular, MICE tourism is identified as a key focus in resorts and golf courses, combining the organization of cultural, sports, political, and international events. Simultaneously, Hanoi encourages the formation of entertainment complexes, hotel-hospital complexes, the development of the night-time economy, and green, sustainable tourism.
