Mr. Cuong's family rented 20 hectares of land in Cao Duong village, Gia Khanh commune (Gia Loc) to grow sweet potatoes but is having difficulty selling them. Currently, this farmer's household has about 40 tons of harvested sweet potatoes piled up along the roadside and 10 hectares of unharvested potatoes, with an expected yield of about 200 tons.

Although the quality is good, due to competition from Southern sweet potatoes being transported to many localities in the North for consumption, including Hai Duong, Mr. Cuong's sweet potato consumption is difficult.

Gia Khanh Commune People's Committee has supported Mr. Cuong's family in propagating, harvesting and selling sweet potatoes, and has reminded the family not to encroach on the road to sell sweet potatoes, affecting traffic safety.

Mr. Cuong's family's sweet potatoes are in the peak harvest period.

Currently, sweet potatoes are selling for 10,000 VND/kg for grade 1 and 5,000-8,000 VND/kg for smaller types. Farmers need to sell sweet potatoes quickly to prepare land for planting vegetables in the next crop.

Sweet potatoes are being urgently harvested by farmers to prepare for the new vegetable crop.

This is one of the largest sweet potato farming households in Gia Loc district at present and this is also the first crop that this farmer has grown sweet potatoes on the entire rented land area in Gia Khanh commune.

Because the potato growing area is large, this farmer rents a soil loosening machine to harvest potatoes quickly and conveniently.
