According to obstetricians and gynecologists, in medical literature, this phenomenon is called "birth en caul", or commonly known as "birth in a caul sac" - only appearing in about 1/80,000 - 1/100,000 births.
When the baby is born, it is still in the amniotic sac, meaning the amniotic sac has not yet ruptured. The amniotic fluid and amniotic membrane continue to protect the baby, maintain stable pressure, and protect the baby from infection and mechanical trauma in the last moments of pregnancy.

It is considered a symbol of luck and peace, a miracle that even experienced doctors rarely witness. There are moments in medicine that go beyond the limits of expertise, touching the emotions of all of us.
This mother gave birth by cesarean section for the second time, at 38 weeks and 5 days of pregnancy. The baby weighed 3,400 grams. The baby cried loudly, was rosy, and full of life right after birth.
According to Dr. Kieu Tien Quyet, Deputy Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Thanh Nhan Hospital, a second elective cesarean section is a safe medical option for women who have had a previous cesarean section, to reduce the risk of uterine rupture or complications during natural labor.
"For the Obstetrics and Gynecology team, the moment the baby was born in the amniotic sac was not only a successful surgery, but also a miracle that every medical professional cherishes," said Dr. Quyet.
This cesarean section also demonstrated the smooth coordination and careful preparation between departments in the medical facility such as obstetrics, anesthesia and resuscitation, and neonatal care.
