Construction of 4 Charity Houses started at the border of the Fatherland

On the morning of March 12, Dan Tri newspaper coordinated with the Department of Home Affairs of Lao Cai province and local authorities to organize a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 4 Charity houses for poor and near-poor households in Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were journalist Pham Tuan Anh, Editor-in-Chief of Dan Tri newspaper; Ms. Nguyen Thi Luong, Deputy Director of Lao Cai Provincial Department of Home Affairs; Ms. Ban Thanh Thao, Vice Chairman of Bat Xat District People's Committee; Mr. Chu Van Hoi, Party Secretary, Chairman of Quang Kim Commune People's Council, Bat Xat District and representatives of families receiving Nhan Ai houses.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, journalist Pham Tuan Anh, Editor-in-Chief of Dan Tri newspaper, respectfully thanked readers and philanthropists who have accompanied the program of building Charity houses as well as the Charity activities of Dan Tri newspaper.

At the same time, Editor-in-Chief Pham Tuan Anh sent his thanks to the leaders of Lao Cai province, the leaders of Bat Xat district and the local government for creating conditions for Dan Tri newspaper to support people in rebuilding their lives.

Editor-in-Chief Pham Tuan Anh also shared that the project to build 100 Charity houses was launched in April 2024 and will be implemented in two years 2024-2025. From April 10, 2024 to now, 95 Charity houses have been started by Dan Tri newspaper. This week, construction will start on 5 more Charity houses in Cao Bang , bringing the total number of Charity houses to 100, completing 100% of the plan in less than 12 months.

Currently, 73 Charity houses have been inaugurated and put into use. Dan Tri Newspaper will soon complete the remaining 27 Charity houses so that families in difficult circumstances can soon move back to live in solid houses. Although the initial goal has been completed, Dan Tri Newspaper will not stop there, it will continue the Charity house building program, with a new goal of building 100 more Charity houses in 2025 to celebrate the country's major holidays and the 20th anniversary of the founding of Dan Tri electronic newspaper.

Also at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Chu Van Hoi, Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Kim commune, emotionally shared: "Today, Quang Kim commune is very honored to have Dan Tri newspaper organize the groundbreaking ceremony to build 4 Charity houses for poor and near-poor households in especially difficult circumstances in the area. The help of Dan Tri newspaper readers will certainly help Quang Kim commune speed up the process of building advanced new rural areas, helping poor and near-poor households escape poverty and escape near-poverty sustainably."

At the same time, Mr. Chu Van Hoi also affirmed that the Party Committee and the commune government will direct the commune's departments and branches to regularly visit and guide households receiving financial support to use it effectively, economically and practically to build solid houses that meet the needs of each household.

Representing the households that received the Nhan Ai houses, Ms. Vang Thi Chuong (born in 1987, residing in San village, Quang Kim commune, Bat Xat district) said that her old house was temporarily built with wood and bamboo 8 years ago. The house, about 50 square meters wide, is the shelter for her and her husband and 2 children, who are in grades 7 and 3. During the rainy season, the house was on the verge of collapsing. On the day the house was demolished to prepare for the groundbreaking ceremony for the new house, Ms. Chuong's relatives were worried that the house could collapse at any time.

Representatives of 4 households supported to build Charity houses attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

On this occasion, on behalf of readers, Dan Tri newspaper presented 4 gifts, each gift including 1 electric kettle, 2 blankets and 20 tubes of vitamins to 4 families who received support to start construction of the Charity House.

Journalist Pham Tuan Anh, Editor-in-Chief of Dan Tri newspaper, along with local leaders and representatives of households, held a groundbreaking ceremony to start the construction of four Charity houses in Quang Kim commune.

Mr. Lu Van Rom and representatives of households Hu Van Tang and Lo A Sen (in Quang Kim commune) were excited on the groundbreaking day of their new houses.

Previously, at the end of September 2024, during a working trip with Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Van Hoi (now Deputy Minister of Home Affairs) to visit and encourage people in provinces heavily affected by storm No. 3 (Yagi), Dan Tri newspaper decided to survey, mobilize donations and coordinate with Quang Kim commune, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province, to plan to support 4 poor and near-poor households with especially difficult circumstances to rebuild their houses and stabilize their lives.

Through a field survey and at the request of the Quang Kim commune government, Dan Tri newspaper decided to allocate 200 million VND from the Program to support people rebuilding their lives after the flood to help families start building Charity houses.
