Inspiring patriotism and national pride through the "National Flag Route"

"The National Flag Route" is one of the successful community mobilization models implemented jointly by the Ba Vi District Police and the Van Thang Commune Youth Union.

To commemorate the 79th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024), the Hanoi City Police directed its specialized departments and district/town police forces to compete in achieving outstanding results. Among them, the Ba Vi District Police, in coordination with the Youth Union of Van Thang commune (Ba Vi district), launched the "National Flag Road" model. This model was highly praised by the Hanoi City Police for its effective public relations work. Youth union members from both units organized the hanging of 79 red flags with yellow stars and Party flags in prominent locations along the road surrounding Mai Trai Lake and at religious sites in Van Thang commune. A representative from the Ba Vi District Police stated that the "National Flag Road" is one of the effective public relations models that the Ba Vi District Police and the Van Thang Commune Youth Union have been actively involved in implementing. The model, launched just as the whole country was celebrating the 79th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd, contributes to arousing national pride and self-respect among youth union members, young people, and the general public, while also conveying the meaning and value of the national flag and the Party flag on important national holidays. According to Mr. Le Van Nam, Head of Mai Trai village (Van Thang commune), the "National Flag Road" model has profound educational significance in promoting patriotic traditions. In addition, the model creates a bright, green, clean, and beautiful village landscape, contributing to favorable conditions for people's lives and contributing to ensuring security and order. This is a practical action to further instill national pride and self-respect, conveying the value and meaning of the national flag to the people, especially the younger generation. Nguyen Manh Tung, Secretary of the Van Thang Commune Youth Union, emotionally shared how many generations of ancestors sacrificed their lives and blood to beautify the flag, protect independence, and preserve national sovereignty. Wherever they are, just seeing the red flag with a yellow star fluttering in the wind evokes strong emotions in every Vietnamese person. Displaying the national flag is an expression of patriotism and a sense of responsibility; it is also a beautiful cultural tradition that needs to be preserved and promoted. The "National Flag Road" model will serve as a symbol to remind the youth of Van Thang commune in particular, and the youth of Ba Vi district in general, to always be proud of the nation's traditions. According to the Hanoi City Police, the "National Flag Road" model is both a highlight of the village landscape and the result of the coordinated activities of the Ba Vi District Police and the Van Thang Commune Youth Union. This activity demonstrates the special attention and close bond between the district police force and the people and government of Van Thang. The image of the national flag and the Party flag flying together demonstrates the patriotism and faith of the people in the Party, and showcases the strength of the entire political system in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, and developing Ba Vi into an increasingly prosperous and beautiful homeland.
