The summer camp takes place over 4 days, including 2 days of online learning (July 24-25) and 2 days of in-person experience (July 26-27) at Quang Nam Academy International Bilingual School.
During the summer camp, participants focus on developing critical thinking, communication, teamwork, presentation, problem-solving, and community project-building skills.
Spreading the aspiration to share.
The journey to create the ISC 2025 leadership summer camp began with the aspiration of Pham Le Lam Vy, a 12th-grade student at Le Thanh Tong Specialized High School (Hoi An Tay Ward, Da Nang City).
Lam Vy has participated in many international educational programs for young people, such as Model UN workshops, ASEAN youth leadership camps, and skills training courses in Singapore and Malaysia.
From those experiences, Vy clearly recognized the value of developing personal abilities and leadership skills in an experiential environment, and simultaneously nurtured a desire to create a similar program specifically for students in Da Nang - where she was born and raised.
“After participating in several international summer camps, I noticed that many students in major cities have early access to in-depth skills programs. Meanwhile, students in Da Nang and neighboring areas don't have many similar opportunities. I want to bring this program back to my hometown as a way to spread what I've learned to the community. ISC 2025 is designed with that in mind, not emphasizing achievement but focusing on developing critical thinking and social responsibility in young people,” Lam Vy shared.
As the head of the organizing committee, Vy and her team from the non-profit organization Youth+ Community spent months developing the program script, mobilizing resources, inviting experts, designing content, and managing activities.
Accordingly, in a multi-dimensional learning environment, campers are divided into groups to participate in a "simulated land management" model, thereby learning how to assign roles, plan actions, and present ideas to a simulated panel.
Alongside these are specialized training sessions led by young speakers, such as Ms. Phan Quynh Mai, President of PISE, who previously represented Vietnam at the ASEAN-China-India Young Leaders Conference. Or Ms. Hoang Minh Dieu, a student at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), and a TEDxTPC speaker.
Create your own journey of growth.
After nearly four days, the ISC 2025 leadership summer camp left a deep impression on the participating students, not only because of its well-organized model but also thanks to the close companionship of the young people who led the program.
Among them, Nguyen Hoang Dung, an 11th-grade student from Nguyen Binh Khiem Specialized High School (Ban Thach ward, Da Nang city), said that although she had participated in several other summer camps, this was the first time she felt truly living up to the role of a "young citizen" when having to make decisions, persuade others, and defend her personal opinions.
“I especially enjoyed the ‘Reflection Circle’ at the end of the day. Everyone shared their thoughts on what they learned, what they didn’t do well, and how to improve themselves. I realized that I had overcome my fear of public speaking and learned to listen to my teammates. This summer camp wasn’t just a series of summer activities, but a place for each camper to discover themselves in the role of a leader,” said Hoang Dung.
From the perspective of an education administrator, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tinh Thao, Principal of Quang Nam Academy International Bilingual School, highly appreciates the investment in content and the quality of organization of ISC 2025. According to Ms. Thao, the program provides a practical experience that is completely different from traditional learning methods.
"We support our students not for the sake of academic achievement, but for the sustainable development of their inner strength. The summer camp has created a positive learning environment, helping students engage with real-world situations in a safe space, receive timely support, and get prompt feedback," Ms. Thao commented.
Sharing the same view, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Phuong, Co-founder and Director of Communications of Senda Skills Academy System, believes that ISC 2025 clearly demonstrates the philosophy of liberal education, placing students at the center and focusing on developing global citizenship skills.
“We see a generation of students gradually changing in a proactive, confident, committed, and dedicated way. They are the seeds of future leadership, and models like ISC are the ideal environment for them to flourish,” Ms. Phuong said.
Although it has concluded, the ISC 2025 summer camp program not only inspired young people with their capacity to build society but also opened up an innovative and sustainable education model where each student is empowered to grow, to lead, and to spread positive values from their time in school.
