On July 18, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province issued a decision approving the task outline and budget estimate for the construction project of the Alexandre Yersin Museum. This is considered a necessary initial step in the roadmap to realize the Alexandre Yersin Museum project, expected to be completed in 2027.

For many years, admirers of Dr. A. Yersin have wished for a worthy museum to be a place to research, display, introduce and promote his life and career to the people and domestic and international tourists because for most of his life, Dr. A. Yersin lived and was attached to the land of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa. In his heart, he always had the most love for the people of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa and the people here also had feelings for him like a family member. To honor Dr. A. Yersin, the province has built schools, hospitals, roads, parks... named after him. However, having a museum dedicated to Dr. A. Yersin that is worthy and effective in promoting and disseminating information is still the wish of the people and the community of people who love Mr. Nam Yersin.

According to Mr. Dong Luong Son - Chairman of the Association of Admirers of Doctor A. Yersin, for many years, the association has always wished to build a new Yersin Museum to become a destination that attracts the attention of people and tourists. The association has also made many recommendations and proposals to the provincial leaders on this issue. If the new Yersin Museum is built, the association and its individual members will actively support and donate to the museum artifacts, images, and documents related to Doctor A. Yersin that are being preserved.
Currently, in Nha Trang City, there is the Yersin Museum located in the Pasteur Institute of Nha Trang. This museum was established 27 years ago, with an area of about 100m2 , displaying many valuable artifacts and images related to the life and scientific career of Dr. A. Yersin. However, due to its small area, location within the Pasteur Institute of Nha Trang and being managed by this unit, promoting and promoting the value of the museum still faces many difficulties. The number of visitors coming to visit and study here is very small and the museum mainly only has the task of preserving the existing artifacts, images and documents. The construction of the new Alexandre Yersin Museum is necessary because the museum is not only a place to preserve, store, display and promote the value that Mr. Nam Yersin contributed to humanity; Not only to honor his great contributions to the people and land of Khanh Hoa, but also to be a bridge between Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa in particular, Vietnam in general to the world through images of Vietnamese culture, country and people; to meet the needs of enjoying spiritual culture, cultural exchange, learning about the land and local people; this is also an attraction for domestic and foreign tourists to contribute to the development of the tourism economy .

Alexandre Yersin Museum is expected to be built in the area of Guest House 378, adjacent to Yersin Park. The total land area used for the museum is 5,787m2 , the construction density is not more than 40%, the total floor area is 10,000m2 . According to Mr. Nguyen Van Nhuan - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports , the architectural space of Alexandre Yersin Museum has typical characteristics, closely associated with the legacy left by Dr. A.Yersin. In particular, the project also focuses on emphasizing the memories of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa people about Dr. A.Yersin when the design of the museum simulates the image of Ong Tu's Tower, in Xom Con to make the main exhibition area. This architectural highlight of the museum aims to meet the aspirations of all classes of people for the restoration of the image of Ong Tu's Tower. In addition, the architecture of the project must also ensure harmony and connection with the exhibition content; the research project takes advantage of the natural conditions of the land to create unique architectural and landscape spaces, developing multi-directional layouts to highlight the landscape of the area. It is expected that in the period of 2025 - 2027, this project will be conducted for architectural and landscape competition, construction, acceptance and handover.
After the Alexandre Yersin Museum is completed, the functional units will carry out indoor and outdoor exhibition activities to tell people stories through large-scale exhibitions about the life and career of Dr. A. Yersin. From there, the portrait of a scientist who is always dedicated to science; the achievements, glory in scientific research activities and contributions of Dr. A. Yersin to the protection of human health, social progress; his humanity and profound heart towards humanity in general, and the people of Nha Trang in particular. Specifically, the exhibition content is expected to have the following structure: Introduction - Alexandre Yersin, a famous person of the time, with 5 topics (doctor, famous bacteriologist, brave explorer, pioneering agronomist, passion for natural research and science and technology, Alexandre Yersin with Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa); conclusion - Gratitude to the famous person. The outdoor space of the museum will be a park characterized by a beautiful, peaceful seaside space with small, diverse, highly artistic works related to the activities, events, and life of Dr. A. Yersin. This area is also a convenient park for visitors to rest, visit, play, and educate. There will be a Yersin statue garden; a model of the thatched house where Dr. A. Yersin lived and worked during his time researching the plague in Hong Kong, a model of a small house on the mountainside overlooking Suoi Dau farm, a model of a wooden house on the top of Hon Ba...
Resolution No. 34, dated December 22, 2023 of the Provincial Party Committee on promoting cultural heritage values associated with sustainable tourism development in Khanh Hoa province until 2025, with a vision to 2030, clearly states: “Complete the construction of new and effectively put into operation key cultural institutions of the province, including: Alexandre Yersin Museum…”. With the efforts of the authorities, admirers of Dr. A. Yersin are hoping to soon see the appearance of the Alexandre Yersin Museum.
