During the 2019-2024 period, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee of Lang Son have focused on directing the implementation of ethnic policies associated with socio-economic development goals. They have strictly directed the implementation of Conclusion No. 65-KL/TW dated October 30, 2019 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW of the 9th Party Central Committee on ethnic work in the new situation.

In particular, after 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the 3rd Provincial Congress of Ethnic Minorities, in 2019, the targets and objectives set out have been basically achieved; the situation in ethnic minority and mountainous areas has had many positive changes. Notably: the total area of ​​agricultural crops in the period averaged over 94,000 hectares; new forest planting in the whole province reached an average of 9,676 hectares/year, the forest cover rate increased from 62.8% in 2019 to 64.1% now. The whole province has invested in upgrading and repairing over 290 irrigation works with a total cost of over 301 billion VND; the rate of trained workers in the province has increased from 52.5% in 2019 to 64% now...

The economy has developed quite stably, the average growth rate of gross domestic product in the period 2019 - 2023 is 6.28%; in 2023, the average GRDP per capita reached 59.8 million VND/person/year. It is expected to reach 61.9 million VND/person/year by the end of 2024.

It is estimated that the disbursement by the end of 2024 will be 2,306,906/2,859,170 million VND, reaching 80.68%. The projects have focused on key investments, focusing on the most difficult communes, villages and hamlets, solving the most pressing and urgent problems, especially investing in essential infrastructure to serve production and life in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

From the Program's capital sources, new investments have been made in solidifying 241.49/193km of roads to the commune center and inter-commune roads (exceeding 25% of the phase plan); building 02 new, renovating; repairing 12 commune health stations; building 02 new markets and renovating, repairing, and upgrading 08 markets; maintaining 159 works of all kinds; investing in building 71 teacher offices; 102 student dormitories; supporting housing for 1,040 households; supporting job conversion for 1,887 households; supporting distributed domestic water for 6,933 households; implementing 08 residential stabilization projects; arranging and supporting relocation for 158 households; supporting 65 projects to develop production according to the value chain, 155 projects to support community production development...
