Five players from Ba Ria-Vung Tau Club have been prosecuted.

On the morning of February 1st, the Investigation Police Agency of the province served the decisions to initiate criminal proceedings and indict the following individuals: NSH (born in 1994, residing in Dong Thap province, goalkeeper), LBGH (born in 2002, residing in Thanh Hoa province, midfielder), PVP (born in 2004, residing in Hai Duong province, forward), NQH (born in 2004, residing in Dong Nai province, midfielder), and TKA (born in 2004, residing in Ben Tre province, midfielder) for the crime of "Gambling" under Article 321 of the Penal Code.

These decisions have been approved by the People's Procuratorate at the same level. The five individuals are players of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau football club.

According to initial investigations, during the match between Ba Ria-Vung Tau FC andSHB Da Nang FC in the Golden Star Cup on December 24, 2023, at Ba Ria Stadium, the five suspects conspired to underperform.

Subsequently, these individuals placed bets on SHB Da Nang FC winning on online football betting websites. The match ended with SHB Da Nang FC defeating Ba Ria-Vung Tau FC with a score of 3-1.

The case is currently being investigated further by the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Provincial Police.
