On August 15, the Investigation Agency of the Supreme People's Procuracy issued a decision to prosecute and order the temporary detention of Mr. Vo Dinh Som - Judge of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Court to investigate the crime of receiving bribes under the provisions of Article 354 of the Penal Code.
According to the initial investigation results, Mr. Vo Dinh Som was assigned to handle and try the civil case of land use rights dispute.

However, during the process of settling the lawsuit, Mr. Som demanded that the litigant named T. pay 500 million VND to help Mr. T. win the lawsuit.
Previously, on August 4, the Investigation Agency of the Supreme People's Procuracy executed an emergency detention order and searched Mr. Vo Dinh Som's office at the Gia Lai Provincial People's Court, discovering and seizing 500 million VND, the amount that Mr. T. gave to Mr. Som as requested.
The case is being handled by the Supreme People's Procuracy Investigation Agency according to regulations.
