On July 17, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Viet Hung inspected the site and directed the construction work at the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway project (Da Nang City). This is an expressway with a length of more than 11.4 km, located in the North - South traffic axis in the East, playing a strategic role in connecting the region, especially with the Central Highlands provinces.

At the construction site, Deputy Minister Nguyen Viet Hung emphasized: “The project has been selected as a key project to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2. There is no plan to delay the progress. We cannot let a few hundred meters of clearance slow down the entire route.”
According to the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, the project investor, the main road surface has been paved with 10.6km of semi-open asphalt concrete, and 10.5km of C25 dense asphalt concrete. Construction teams are simultaneously deploying 4 construction fronts, working three shifts in favorable weather conditions. Items such as railings, drainage systems, overpasses, underpasses, etc. are being constructed in a rolling manner, accelerating to reach the finish line early.

Mr. Ta Gia Manh Hung, Executive Director of the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway Project, said that, implementing the Prime Minister's direction, in recent times, the investor and units have accelerated construction, focused on mobilizing machinery, vehicles, human resources, materials, etc. and organized the simultaneous construction of many project items in 3 shifts/day.
With the enthusiastic competitive spirit at the construction site, and consensus from the Central to local levels, the project is expected to be completed and opened to traffic on August 19, creating a strong boost for the Central region's transport infrastructure system in the coming time.
The contractor representative - Truong Son Corps said that if the weather continues to be favorable, the entire main road surface will be paved before August 10; the sign system and lane division will be completed from August 12 to 15. The project will be technically opened to traffic under control on August 19 and will continue to be completed synchronously until December 2025.
However, the only bottleneck at present is the 500m section that cannot be constructed due to site clearance issues. Some households have not agreed on the compensation plan, hindering the handover process, affecting the progress of the entire route.

The project management board, in coordination with the contractor and local authorities, needs to focus on dialogue and mobilize people with many flexible solutions, persistently but resolutely, to avoid the situation where people arbitrarily go to the route, causing insecurity or affecting the safety of the construction site.
"We must ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles, and not let hot spots arise from compensation and clearance work," Deputy Minister Nguyen Viet Hung directed.
The Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway is the final section connecting the La Son - Tuy Loan expressway, playing an important role in completing the North - South traffic axis in the west, while helping to reduce the load on National Highway 1A through the Central region.
With a length of about 11.5km, the project started construction in September 2023 with a total investment of more than VND 2,112 billion, expected to be completed in November 2025. However, with the spirit of "overcoming the sun and rain", the construction forces are shortening the time by nearly 3 months to be technically open to traffic in time for National Day, September 2.
This is not only a vital traffic connection route but also a symbol of the construction industry in celebration of the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2. When completed, the expressway will expand the development space to the West of Da Nang, creating a corridor to attract investment, develop urban, industrial and tourism areas in the suburbs, and effectively reduce the load on National Highway 14B.
