(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Around the afternoon and night of November 17th, a cold front will affect the Northeast region, then the North Central region, some areas in the Northwest region and the Central Central region.

The National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting announced that a cold air mass in the North is moving southward.

Forecasts indicate that around the afternoon and night of November 17th, this cold air mass will affect the Northeast region; subsequently, it will affect the North Central region, some areas in the Northwest region, and the Central region.

Northeast winds inland will strengthen to level 3, and level 4 in coastal areas.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, Head of the Weather Forecasting Department (National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting), from November 18th, the northeastern region of Vietnam and Thanh Hoa province will experience cold weather at night and early morning.

From November 20th, the Northern and North Central regions of Vietnam will experience cold weather at night and in the morning.

The lowest temperatures during this cold spell in Northern Vietnam and North Central Vietnam will generally range from 18-20 degrees Celsius, with some mountainous areas experiencing temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius.

Mr. Huong stated that from November 18th, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the northeast wind will gradually strengthen to level 6, gusting to levels 7-8; the sea will be rough, with waves 2-4 meters high. In the northern part of the East Sea, the northeast wind will be strong at levels 6-7, gusting to levels 8-9; the sea will be very rough, with waves 3-5 meters high.

Due to the influence of disturbances in the upper easterly wind zone combined with cold air, from November 18th to 19th, the northern and central parts of Central Vietnam will experience showers and scattered thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy rain.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind.
