Do not gather on the banks of the Lo River when the water is high.

- In recent days, due to prolonged heavy rain and the opening of the bottom spillway gates of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir, the water level of Lo River through Tuyen Quang City is rising, the current is fast and potentially dangerous.

Some parents brought their children along, without any protective gear, freely taking pictures, playing, and splashing in the water right next to the river. Photo taken at 10:55 a.m. on June 29, 2025.

Notably, at the old ferry terminal area (opposite VietinBank Tuyen Quang branch, in Minh Xuan ward), many curious people gathered to monitor the water level. Worryingly, some parents brought their children along, without any protective equipment, the children freely took pictures, played, and splashed in the water right next to the riverbank, when the water was flowing strongly. Just a little carelessness, lack of supervision from adults can lead to accidents, especially the risk of children drowning.

Authorities recommend that people do not gather or let children play near the river during the flood season. Local authorities need to increase propaganda, put up warning signs, and check and remind in a timely manner to ensure the safety of people during this flood season.
