Khuat Van Khang aims to score against Hong Kong team

Khuat Van Khang is one of the surprise choices of coach Philippe Troussier for the list of 30 players of the Vietnam national team for the friendly match with the Hong Kong team on June 15 at Lach Tray Stadium, Hai Phong . Van Khang is one of four U.23 Vietnam players promoted to the national team by coach Troussier, along with Van Tung, Van Toan and Tuan Tai.

According to Khuat Van Khang, training with his seniors in the national team has helped this player and the U.23 Vietnam team gain more confidence.

"Compared to previous sessions working with Coach Troussier, this session is different. For me, this is the first time I have trained with both the national team and the U.23 team. Everyone being grouped together to practice helps the U.23 players gain confidence and demonstrate their skills, learning more from their seniors," Van Khang shared.

Van Khang was called up to the Vietnam national team in September 2022, before scoring his debut goal against Singapore in a friendly tournament in a 4-0 victory. The midfielder, who is currently playing for Viettel Club, said: "I am one of four U.23 players to participate in the friendly match against Hong Kong. I feel that in training, the coach has chosen the most suitable players who can absorb the coach's tactics. I will try harder and improve on what the coach gives me."

Khuat Van Khang hopes to continue scoring for the Vietnamese team, first against the Hong Kong team in a friendly match at Lach Tray Stadium on June 15.

"Every position has to try their best, mine is the same. I have to try to understand the coach's tactics. The most important thing is the team's formation and collective tactics. I will try my best to play well if I get on the field to help the team achieve positive results first. After that, I will set my own goals, try to score my own goals in this match," Van Khang concluded.
