Kien Luong builds the foundation for development

During the 2020 - 2025 term, the socio -economic development of Kien Luong commune has grown quite well. Key economic sectors such as tourism, trade, services, and aquaculture have received investment attention and achieved many positive results. Comrade Tran Binh Trong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Luong commune affirmed: "The locality has mobilized maximum resources to invest in building a synchronous and modern infrastructure system; prioritizing the construction of key and focal works serving inter-regional connectivity, meeting the requirements of urban development and new rural construction. Urban and rural traffic infrastructure is invested in each stage, in accordance with the development plan of the commune, creating a driving force to promote socio-economic development and improve people's lives".

Some key completed projects and works have contributed to expanding urban space and improving connectivity, including: Provincial Road 971 connecting the administrative center of Kien Luong commune with tourist areas in the commune; Hon Dat - Kien Luong coastal corridor road; commune center bypass road... In addition, projects mobilizing non-budgetary capital sources have also been effectively implemented, serving production, people's lives and inland waterway traffic. Infrastructure serving residents and urban embellishment has many positive changes. Some residential areas have invested in water supply and drainage systems, lighting, internal roads, ensuring essential infrastructure standards according to regulations. The completed projects have contributed to creating clean land funds, facilitating population arrangement, solving housing problems for people, and attracting investment in the area.

Infrastructure serving trade, services and tourism has been invested and renovated, such as: Repairing and upgrading Tron Kien Luong market, renovating Chua Hang - Hon Phu Tu tourist area, Mo So historical relic site, and some traditional markets in the area. Hon Re Lon eco-tourism area has been put into use, Hon Kien Vang eco-tourism area has started construction, expected to be completed by the end of 2025, put into operation for tourism.

“In recent times, the investment in completing the infrastructure system has created a foundation and driving force to promote tourism development in the commune. Compared to the beginning of the term, tourism has flourished, gradually promoting its existing potential and advantages. Service types have become more diverse; many tourist attractions have received investment and renovation attention, contributing to promoting the positive shift in the local economic structure,” added comrade Tran Binh Trong.

Towards the main economic sector

Marine economy, industry, tourism and services will become the key economic sectors of the commune in the next 5 years, aiming to build a commune with rapid, comprehensive and sustainable development. To successfully implement the goals and tasks of the 2025 - 2030 term, the commune focuses on exploiting its existing potential and strengths to the maximum, mobilizing resources from the Central, the province and socialization, effectively implementing key and breakthrough solutions in socio-economic development.

Specifically, the locality focuses on investing in and synchronously developing socio-economic infrastructure, renovating and upgrading commune centers and main traffic routes, gradually forming a modern and civilized urban space. Continue to promote the potential, advantages of the sea and natural resources, landscapes and scenic spots of the locality to develop the marine economy, tourism and fisheries in a sustainable direction. At the same time, focus on attracting investment in developing eco-tourism, community tourism and spiritual tourism, especially the restoration of Phu Tu Islet to create a highlight for Kien Luong tourism development.

The commune strengthens the application of information technology, implements digital transformation in management, operation and provision of public services; builds a public, transparent, professional and effective administration to serve the people and businesses. In addition, well implements social security policies for beneficiaries according to regulations, takes care of job creation for poor and near-poor households, creating a stable, prosperous and happy life. Strengthens regional linkages between Kien Luong commune and communes and wards in the area, such as To Chau ward, Ha Tien ward, Phu Quoc special zone to promote the commune's advantages in tourism development, focusing on sea tourism.
