Kinhtedothi - On the afternoon of December 31, the Central Internal Affairs Committee held a conference to summarize the Party's internal affairs work and the activities of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption in 2024 in a direct and online format nationwide from the Central bridge to the bridge points of the provincial and municipal Party Committees.

Also attending were Politburo members: Standing member of the Secretariat, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Tran Cam Tu; Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac; Head of the Central Organization Commission Le Minh Hung; Head of the Central Propaganda Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia; Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien and Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang.

Completed the assigned tasks quite comprehensively
The report at the conference showed that in 2024, the Party Internal Affairs Sector and the Provincial Steering Committees for Anti-Corruption and Anti-Corruption made many efforts and attempts, completing quite comprehensively the tasks according to the work program with 10 outstanding events and results. In particular, completing the development and submitting to the Politburo, the Secretariat and the two Central Steering Committees 10 major projects on internal affairs, anti-corruption, waste prevention and judicial reform. Timely advising on amending and supplementing the functions and tasks of the Central Steering Committee and the Provincial Steering Committees to bring waste prevention and control equivalent to anti-corruption.
Advised and organized well 3 sessions, 2 meetings of the Steering Committee, the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on PCTNTC and more than 600 sessions, meetings of the Steering Committee on PCTNTC. Advised and organized more than 1,000 receptions and dialogues with citizens by the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and City Party Committee. Received and processed nearly 60,000 petitions, letters of reflection, complaints, denunciations and advised and directed the handling of more than 200 mass and complicated petitions, contributing to maintaining political stability and social order and safety.
During the year, the provincial Steering Committees decided to put 155 corruption and negative cases under monitoring and direction. They directed local prosecution agencies to initiate 848 new cases/1,884 defendants for corruption crimes. In particular, many provincial Steering Committees on Anti-Corruption and Corruption have advised and directed the promotion of anti-corruption in the non-state sector. They directed, reviewed and handled projects and real estate facilities with signs of waste and public concern. They completed the review and streamlining of the organizational structure; revised and supplemented the functions, tasks and organizational structure of the Central Internal Affairs Committee...
Overcoming loopholes and shortcomings in preventing and fighting corruption
Speaking at the conference, General Secretary To Lam assessed that in 2024, the work of PCTNTC in the entire Party Internal Affairs Sector and the Steering Committees at the provincial and city levels will continue to be maintained in accordance with regulations and orientations with the spirit of no forbidden areas and no exceptions regardless of who it is. Thereby, it contributes to strengthening the people's trust in the Party and is highly appreciated by friends in the international community.
Notably, the entire sector has done a good job of researching and summarizing the practical experience of many strategic policies on anti-corruption and judicial reform, especially policies to perfect the Socialist Republic of Vietnam's Rule of Law State, mechanisms to protect public servants in the implementation of anti-corruption tasks, etc.
The General Secretary also assessed that the Steering Committees for Anti-Corruption in provinces and cities have operated more effectively, promptly perfecting their apparatus, functions, tasks and powers. At the same time, they have effectively advised and directed the initial work of combating waste in key projects and works that have caused outrage and attracted public attention. Thereby, helping the operation and improving the coordination mechanism between relevant agencies, helping the work of the Party's Internal Affairs Sector to become increasingly effective and substantive. At the same time, effectively contributing to the work of Party building and rectification and the process of socio-economic development of the country.
Expressing his agreement with the tasks and solutions set out by the entire sector in 2025, the General Secretary emphasized that next year will see many important events for the country, and that our Party and State have many policies with new thinking and very high requirements. Therefore, the entire Party Internal Affairs Sector and the Steering Committees at the provincial and municipal levels need to closely follow and grasp them to effectively advise the Party and State on internal affairs.
In this spirit, the General Secretary requested the entire Party Internal Affairs Sector to advise the Party to lead and direct the continued promotion of anti-corruption work; resolutely not to allow corrupt, wasteful, and negative cadres to enter the new Party Committee. Continue to improve the effectiveness of research work, propose the Party's major viewpoints and policies on internal affairs, anti-corruption and judicial reform.
In addition, focus on researching, advising, proposing to complete and improve the quality of draft documents of Party Congresses at all levels and draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress. Advise, direct amendments, supplements, overcome loopholes, inadequacies, remove bottlenecks and bottlenecks in legal institutions in general and in the field of PCTNTC in particular, creating new momentum for the country's socio-economic development.
The General Secretary also requested to focus on advising and directing the drastic implementation of waste prevention work throughout society and identified this as a task that needs to be done immediately. In the immediate future, urgently review, investigate, and strictly handle typical cases and incidents of waste of State and People's assets and money.
In addition, advise and direct the strengthening of inspection, supervision and examination of areas where leaders at all levels have a lot of public information about corruption, waste and negativity. It is necessary to investigate and thoroughly handle serious and complicated corruption, waste and negativity cases and incidents that are of public concern, especially cases and incidents related to personnel at all levels.
At the same time, advise and direct to further improve the effectiveness of solutions to prevent corruption, waste and negativity with the motto of prevention as the main, fundamental and long-term, detection and handling as the focus and breakthrough, timely reminders, warnings, prevention and containment of violations early and from afar, not allowing small violations to accumulate into major violations.
The General Secretary also requested the entire Party Internal Affairs Sector to continue to proactively coordinate with functional agencies to advise the Party Committee on leadership and promptly direct complicated issues, especially issues related to citizen reception work, and not let complaints drag on and escalate to higher levels.
The Steering Committees for Anti-Corruption in provinces, cities and the entire Internal Affairs Sector continue to arrange and streamline the organizational apparatus, staff and management, and use assets of agencies and organizations after the streamlining to increasingly effectively perform the functions and tasks assigned by the Party and State.
