Dong Da Ward lights candles to pay tribute to heroic martyrs

At the program, delegates took a moment of silence to remember the heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroic martyrs; wounded and sick soldiers, people with revolutionary contributions, and the country's outstanding children who did not spare their lives for the cause of national liberation and national construction.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Da Ward Tran Thi Minh Xuan said that the Party Committee, government and people of the ward always remember the sacrifices of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and heroic martyrs.

Since the beginning of July, implementing the two-level local government model, the Party Committee, the government, socio -political organizations and all the people of Dong Da ward have carried out many practical activities in the spirit of "When drinking water, remember its source" and "Repaying gratitude".

The ward has launched the "Repaying gratitude" fund; organized a gratitude journey, offered incense at the Martyrs' Monuments; visited, gave gifts, examined and gave free medicine to wounded soldiers, relatives of martyrs' families, former youth volunteers, families with meritorious services to the revolution...

In residential areas, neighborhood groups solemnly held candle lighting ceremonies to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at memorial steles. Many activities to visit and present gifts to exemplary families of meritorious service were carried out, with special attention paid to the lives of youth and children of families of meritorious service and families with revolutionary contributions.

With all our hearts and infinite gratitude, the Party Committee, government and people of the ward vow to follow the heroic and indomitable tradition of previous generations, promote the spirit of dynamism, creativity and intellectual fortitude, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, build and firmly defend the Fatherland of Vietnam; unite, be of one mind, make every effort, contribute to the creation and development of Dong Da ward to become increasingly rich, civilized and modern.
