This place also has another name, Tay Do citadel, located in Vinh Tien and Vinh Long communes, Vinh Loc district, Thanh Hoa province. The citadel was built by Ho Quy Ly - prime minister under the Tran dynasty in 1397. The citadel consists of 4 walls: South, North, East and West. The gate architecture is designed in the form of an arch, the stone slabs on the arch are carved in the shape of grapefruit segments, arranged closely together.
The entire wall and the four main gates of the citadel were built with meticulously carved green limestone slabs. The stone slabs weighing several tons were stacked without any adhesives to ensure their durability. After more than 600 years of historical ups and downs and weather impacts, the wall system is still quite intact.
Visitors coming here, in addition to exploring the unique architecture of the citadel, on weekends can also enjoy folk songs such as rowing, ca tru, and chau van.
