“Coast Guard accompanies fishermen” in Sam Son City

Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Pham Van Tuan and representatives of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command presented gifts to policy families in Sam Son City.

Representatives of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command visited and presented gifts to 104-year-old Vietnamese heroic mother Dang Thi Xoan in Dai Hung commune.

Within the framework of the program, the Organizing Committee presented 40 gifts to families of policy beneficiaries, war invalids, sick soldiers and people in difficult circumstances in Sam Son City; visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers Le Thi Mui, 103 years old in Quang Minh commune and mother Dang Thi Xoan, 104 years old in Dai Hung commune.

Also within the framework of the program, at Lach Hoi Fishing Port, reporters from the Command of Coast Guard Region 1, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Provincial Party Committee informed about the position, role and importance of Vietnam's seas and islands in the cause of national construction and protection; the Party's viewpoints and policies, the State's policies on protecting sovereignty over seas and islands in the new situation; the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard; and propaganda on preventing and combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing for ship owners, captains, crew members and people.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented national flags, life buoys, and life jackets to fishermen in Quang Tien ward, Sam Son city.

The program “Coast Guard accompanies fishermen” is a meaningful activity, contributing to innovation and improving the effectiveness of mass mobilization work of units and localities in the new situation. Thereby, strengthening the solidarity between the army and the people, raising awareness, promoting the responsibility of all classes of people, the participation of the entire political system in the cause of building and firmly protecting the sovereignty, security and safety of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
