Before taking the exam
Currently, it is the final stage to review for the high school graduation exam. At this time, most of you have a certain amount of knowledge. It is best these days for candidates not to take in too much new knowledge, instead, they should systematize the knowledge they have learned, learn each part firmly, especially the basic parts so that when doing the test, they will not lose points unfairly. Note that, once you sit at the desk, turn off all electronic devices to avoid distractions. The important thing is the quality of the study time. Studying for 2 hours with concentration is better than sitting all day opening and closing the book.
In the days before the exam, pay attention to maintaining your health and eating healthily. In previous years, there have been many cases of food poisoning due to eating unsafe food on the street, causing candidates to be hospitalized and unable to attend all exams. It is best to avoid eating fried, greasy foods along the way in these last days. Candidates can eat light foods that are good for digestion and foods that are good for memory such as salmon, tuna, cereals, dark green vegetables, pumpkin, oranges, eggs, etc.
Don’t stay up too late to study or do personal work. Gradually get into the habit of waking up early and going to bed early because if the exam day is not coming, candidates will still be tossing and turning until almost morning. When they enter the exam room, their bodies will not be clear, they will be sleepy, and it will be difficult to concentrate on doing the test. Many candidates even oversleep the exam time, arrive past the allowed time and are not allowed to enter the exam room. Many of them cried and gave up that year.
Regarding the means of transport when taking the exam, in reality, many students take the exam by themselves and many students are picked up by their parents. In any case, check your vehicle before taking the exam to avoid having a flat tire, running out of gas, running out of electricity... in the middle of the road. Just imagine, if your vehicle breaks down in the middle of the road, this will waste time, reduce morale, and greatly affect the exam. Parents too, if you take your children to the exam, you need to make sure to check the vehicle carefully, have enough gas to avoid wasting time filling up and repairing the vehicle while taking your children to the exam site.
Before taking the exam, make sure you have all the necessary tools and documents:
Ballpoint pen: Candidates must prepare the same type of ballpoint pen, with the same blue or black ink color. It is recommended to prepare about 2-3 pens to avoid problems.
2B pencils: Prepare about 3 pencils to fill in multiple choice questions. You should choose a pencil with a round, soft tip, bold lines, and easy to erase when you get the answer wrong, such as 2B, 3B pencils... You should not use mechanical pencils because the lead is small, takes a long time to fill in, and leaves a mark on the answer sheet, making it difficult to erase. You should sharpen your pencils at home, so you can use them when you take the test.
Eraser: Good quality and should be bought in large pieces for easy erasing.
Computer: Remember to check the battery. If it's been a long time since you've changed the battery, take it in for a replacement (watch battery replacement places also replace computer batteries). Avoid the situation where you have to bang on the computer because it won't turn on.
Exam entry form (This form is changed from the Exam Entry Notice, distributed during the exam regulations listening session)
Identity card (Citizen identification card)
Watch: You should bring a watch to keep track of the time you are doing the test, and allocate your time appropriately. Previously, there were many cases where candidates got caught up in a few difficult questions, and when the test time was almost over, there were still many questions left blank. Therefore, candidates need to know how to divide their time, and should not leave any questions blank even if they do not know how to do them.
1 small bottle of water with the label removed: Water can be brought into the exam room. When you lose your composure, you can take a small sip of water to regain your composure and continue doing the test. Remember to close the bottle cap after drinking to avoid spilling it on the exam paper.
Remember to bring your Atlas to the Geography exam, because no one in the exam room will lend it to you. Last year, many candidates forgot their Atlas and had to ask their parents to bring it to the exam venue, which was very time-consuming and could result in not being able to make it to the exam on time.
=> Put all your papers, pens, calculators... in a document bag. In case you lose your things in a chaotic or nervous situation. Absolutely do not bring documents and phones into the exam room. You will not be able to copy because the invigilators are very strict. They can cause the candidate to be warned, suspended and consequently fail the graduation exam.
During the exam
1. What should I wear to the exam?
Candidates should wear clothes that make them feel most comfortable and confident. Do not wear anything that is too flashy or unprofessional because you may not be allowed into the exam room. A tip is that candidates should not wear clothes that are too flashy because it is easy to become the "center of attention" in the exam room, be noticed by the invigilator and affect your psychology.
You can wear uniforms, T-shirts, long pants... as long as they are suitable and comfortable. According to "spirituality", 2k5 can wear blue or white clothes.
2. What to do when you are nervous?
*Sit up straight
*Close your eyes, take a deep breath
*Take a small sip of water (Don't drink too much because it will make you want to go to the bathroom. While doing the test, you can ask to go to the bathroom but the invigilator will have to follow you, which will waste time and make you more nervous).
3. When receiving the proposal
*Do what the supervisor tells you to do, don't fiddle around and get reminded.
*Fill in + Fill in the correct information in the multiple choice answer sheet
When the invigilator distributes the test papers, they will ask the candidates to keep the test papers quiet and not open them. Only after they have finished distributing them will they be allowed to open them. So don't be foolish enough to sneak behind you and open them to see what they are doing. Because you will most likely be warned and become the "target" of the invigilator during the test.
After the exam is opened, candidates will have about 5 to 10 minutes to read the exam. Remember that this time is for reading the exam, not doing the exam. So don't pick up a pen or calculator and do the exam, you will most likely be reminded and have a report made. During this stage, you should spend about 1-2 minutes "examining" the exam, examining all sides, skimming through the questions, checking to see if there are any blurred or missing words, checking the exam code, missing page numbers... The rest, although you are not allowed to hold a pen, you can definitely still do the theoretical questions in your head first. Do it in your head so that when the signal to start doing the exam comes, we can quickly fill in the answers to the theoretical questions that have been done in our head.
When you receive the exam, some students will tremble, sweat, and have palpitations. You read the questions over and over again but still don't understand. Even the first few simple questions are difficult to handle. As a result, you will become more anxious. At this point, the candidate can continue to solve the problem with anxiety. Generally, this anxiety will not last for a long time. After a while, you will gradually immerse yourself in the questions and you will calm down. After the anxiety is gone, you can go back and do the questions that you didn't understand before.
4. When doing the test
- Remember the criteria EASY FIRST - DIFFICULT LATER: Although the test has been arranged from easy to difficult, this is only relative. Try to do the first 28-32 questions as the easiest ones, you must do them correctly, and make sure you get them right.
- Draft carefully, divide the area clearly: After finishing a sentence, leave a paragraph and then draft the next sentence to avoid confusing one sentence with another. You can ask for more draft paper, don't be shy.
- Fill in the answers: Fill in as you go. Many people have the habit of doing all the answers at once and then filling in at the end of the class, which means they don't have enough time and end up rushing and making mistakes. Remember, you must fill in the answers for any questions you can't do, don't leave them blank.
- HOW TO PLAY THE LAST 10 QUESTIONS: If you are lucky or unlucky, you must be generous, don't calculate. Man proposes, God disposes, so if you are lucky, choose the first answer that comes to mind, don't think about it anymore.
When the exam is over
After the exam, do not worry about the results because worrying will not help you. Candidates should also not compare answers with other students or look at answers online because it can make you lose your spirit. Remember, difficult questions are difficult in general and the important thing is to strive for the next subjects.
Parents should also create a comfortable space for their children to have a close and secure support when leaving the exam room. Accompany your children gently in the next exams.
