Timely rescue of cargo ship in distress at sea

At 4:00 p.m. on August 18, the Cam Pha Port Border Guard Station (Provincial Border Guard) received information from local residents that two cargo ships had collided with reefs in the Cong Do sea area (Quang Ninh), causing one cargo ship to sink with five people on board.

Previously, at 3:00 p.m. on August 18, two ships HD 6689 and HD 6969 belonging to Quyen Phuc Company Limited, on their journey from Hon Net port (Quang Ninh) to Kinh Mon ( Hai Phong ) to Cong Do sea area (Quang Ninh), suddenly hit a reef.

The collision caused the HD 6689 ship, piloted by Captain Dam Van Doanh (born in 1983), to sink, capsize, and sink into the water. Fortunately, all 4 crew members and 1 cargo supervisor promptly transferred to other vehicles, ensuring their safety. The HD 6969 ship's cargo hold was punctured, and the captain ordered the ship to return to Hon Net port to transship.

Immediately upon receiving the information, Cam Pha Border Guard Station dispatched 1 boat, along with 5 officers and soldiers to urgently approach the scene, coordinating with functional forces to deploy rescue work.

The station has taken 4 crew members of the HD 6689 ship to the unit for health check-up. Currently, the crew members' health condition is stable. 1 cargo supervisor was brought safely to shore by the water traffic police.
