Quang Ninh Border Guard: Arranged 255 officers and soldiers to be on duty to fight storm No. 9

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 9 (Ragasa), the Border Guard force of Quang Ninh province is urgently deploying synchronous prevention and control measures, ready to effectively respond to all situations occurring on both sea and land borders.

Since September 22, implementing the directions of the Border Guard Command, the Provincial People's Committee and the Military Command of Quang Ninh province, the Provincial Border Guard Command has concretized them into documents and plans to direct the deployment to 100% of units, officers and soldiers.

Along with that, the 24/24h duty and command regime is strictly maintained at the Provincial Border Guard Command and grassroots units to be ready to mobilize and carry out tasks when required; at the same time, specific tasks are assigned to each leader of the Border Guard Command to direct storm prevention work in each direction, sea route, border route and inland area, ensuring unified and close direction throughout the force.

The Provincial Border Guard Command also arranged a mobile standing force of 255 officers and soldiers, 25 high-speed boats and ships, always ready to move and handle situations; at the same time, directed the Co To and Ngoc Vung Border Guard Stations to fire 48 storm warning flares to warn fishermen and vehicles at sea.

Previously, the provincial Border Guard had organized 63 boats/273 officers and soldiers to go to the grassroots to grasp the local situation, propagate and mobilize people to prevent and fight the storm; help people reinforce, tie up, and secure houses, and tie up hundreds of cages and rafts for aquaculture. The Border Guard force also coordinated with local authorities and other forces to check areas at risk of landslides and flooding in the border areas and island areas. The Border Guard Stations have also prepared plans to welcome people to take shelter from the storm.

Ngoc Vung Border Guard Station fired flares to call on ships to come ashore to avoid the storm.

According to the report of the Quang Ninh Border Guard, as of the late afternoon of September 23, all 7,464 vehicles with 14,928 crew members, fishermen and 1,465 workers on 2,530 cages and rafts regularly operating in the Border Guard area have been guided and arranged to anchor and take shelter from storms safely.

With the motto of "4 on-site", the Border Guard of Quang Ninh province continues to closely monitor the developments of storm No. 9, strictly maintain on-duty regime, ensure smooth communication; closely coordinate with forces and localities in natural disaster prevention, maintain stability in the area, protect the safety of lives and property of people in border, sea and island areas.
