Kon Tum gives gongs to people with capital to do tourism

The precious gong set was given to Tu Tho villagers to preserve and promote indigenous culture and develop community tourism .

On January 13, Mr. Vo Trung Manh - Chairman of Tu Mo Rong District People's Committee - said that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Kon Tum province decided to give Tu Tho Resettlement Village a set of precious gongs to promote community tourism development.

The ceremony to present the precious gong set will take place on January 14, 2025, at the same time as the villagers receive the decision of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman to recognize Tu Tho as a community tourism village.

In addition, another unit also expressed its wish to give Tu Tho village a set of pillars to build a long house - a traditional cultural symbol of the Xo Dang people in the middle of the vast mountains and forests.

Tu Tho village is currently a stable resettlement site for dozens of households, avoiding the risk of natural disasters and landslides that threaten their lives. In the coming time, the government and people will launch a tree planting and afforestation movement, restoring the lost forests next to the majestic Ngoc Linh range.

This activity is expected not only to create landscape and regulate the climate but also to turn Tu Tho into a green village on the plateau.

Previously, in April 2024, Tu Mo Rong District People's Committee coordinated with Tu Tho villagers to plant 4,000 Bulgarian rose trees on an area of ​​5,000 square meters.

This area was developed by Mr. Nguyen Van Hiep (Tu Tho village) in collaboration with 10 households, using imported rose varieties priced at 300,000 VND/tree, imported directly from Bulgaria by air.

In addition to developing rose cultivation, Tu Mo Rong district is also known as the capital of Ngoc Linh ginseng, with thousands of hectares of ginseng grown under the majestic canopy of old forests.
