15th Session of the Dien Bien Phu City People's Council, 6th Term

At the meeting, the People's Council of Dien Bien Phu City focused on reviewing and evaluating the implementation of socio -economic development tasks; state budget revenue and expenditure for the first six months of the year, and key tasks and solutions for the last six months of 2024. Accordingly, from the beginning of the year until now, most socio-economic indicators of Dien Bien Phu City have met the set expectations, with some indicators achieving high results and increasing compared to the same period in 2023. Notable achievements include: successfully organizing many important events, attracting many domestic and international tourists; relatively stable development of agricultural, forestry, industrial, and handicraft production activities; strong development of the trade and service sector; total retail sales of goods reaching 65.35% of the annual plan and increasing by 71% compared to the same period in 2023.

The People's Committee of Dien Bien Phu City actively addressed the shortcomings in urban order from the previous period; the organization of land acquisition, compensation, and site clearance was focused and accelerated. Dien Bien Phu City also actively and strongly reformed the investment and business environment, focusing on administrative procedure reform and building an e-government; implementing Project 06 ranked first in the entire province. In addition, Dien Bien Phu City focused on mobilizing support for building solidarity houses for poor households; and paid attention to creating jobs for 1,620 workers...

Also at this session, the Dien Bien Phu City People's Council, 6th term, discussed and approved resolutions on key tasks and solutions for socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the last six months of 2024; resolutions on adjusting the 2022 budget revenue and expenditure settlement; resolutions on the city's 2023 budget revenue and expenditure settlement; resolutions on adjusting and supplementing the medium-term public investment plan for the 2021-2025 period using local budget funds; and resolutions on the projected public investment plan for 2025 in Dien Bien Phu City.

Simultaneously, the Dien Bien Phu City People's Council also discussed and passed resolutions approving the investment policy for the construction of a community cultural center in Phieng Loi village, Thanh Minh commune; a resolution adjusting the investment policy for the repair and upgrading of Noong Bua, Khe Chit, and Nam Rom parks; and a resolution canceling the investment policy for several projects in the city, such as: the upgrading and renovation project of Tran Can and Phan Dinh Giot roads; the upgrading and renovation project of sidewalks, drainage systems, and technical trenches from the left canal to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; and the repair and paving project of sidewalks on Nguyen Huu Tho and Tran Dang Ninh roads. In addition, within the framework of the session, questioning and answering of questions were conducted with members of the Dien Bien Phu City People's Committee.

The 15th session of the Dien Bien Phu City People's Council, 6th term, 2021-2026, will take place over 1.5 days, from July 11-12.
