Celebrating 30 years of establishment of Son Tay District Medical Center

(Baoquangngai.vn)- Son Tay District Medical Center held a ceremony to celebrate its 30th anniversary (October 4, 1994 - October 4, 2024).

The ceremony took place on the afternoon of October 3. Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Tan Duc; Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Xuan Men; representatives of the Department of Health and leaders of Son Tay district.

At the ceremony, the leader of the Son Tay District Health Department gave a speech reviewing the 30-year journey of formation and development of the district health sector. The 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Son Tay District Health Center is an opportunity to review a historical journey, a process of constant efforts and endeavors of the district health sector's officials and employees, during the process of formation and development.

Before 1994, Son Tay District Medical Center belonged to Son Ha District Medical Center. However, in response to the mission of caring for, protecting and improving the health of people in the Western region of Son Tay District, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1795/QD-UB dated October 4, 1994 on the establishment of Son Tay District Medical Center (under the Quang Ngai Department of Health).

Vice Chairman of the People's Council Nguyen Tan Duc; Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province Nguyen Xuan Men awarded Certificates of Merit of the Provincial People's Committee to collectives in the health sector of Son Tay district.

After 30 years, through many difficulties, up to now, the health care work for people in the district has made much progress. The health network has been strengthened in terms of infrastructure, equipment, medical staff, doctors... to promptly meet the needs of medical examination and treatment for the people. Disease prevention, environmental sanitation, and food safety have been strengthened.

Up to now, 8/9 communes in the district have met the national health standards. The health insurance coverage rate has reached 100%. Maternal and child health care, population and family planning work have been well implemented. The rate of 5 obstetric complications and malnutrition have gradually decreased over the years.

With the motto "Treatment with heart - care with heart", in the coming time, the staff, doctors and nurses of Son Tay District Medical Center will continue to make efforts, devote all their enthusiasm and medical ethics to the work of taking care of people's health in the area, especially ethnic minorities in remote areas...
