According to Mr. Tran Van Huu, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh Trail Tradition Association at Sea in Vietnam, 50 years ago, on the occasion of Tet Mau Than 1968, the 125th Naval Group received orders to dispatch 4 ships C43, C56, C165 and C235 to carry out a special mission to transport weapons to urgently support the fronts from the Central region to the Southwest region. In the heroic war in the southern sea, only ship C56 returned to the North, the remaining 3 ships remained forever in the heart of the ocean, many officers and soldiers heroically sacrificed with the ship.
Mr. Le Van Thanh, Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, also said that with the approval of the Prime Minister, on February 28, the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong City Party Committee agreed to assign the task to the Hai Phong City People's Committee to implement the investment project to build the K15 - Do Son Wharf Historical Relic Site, so that this place is worthy of being a national historical relic.
The project will be implemented in 2018 on an area of 4.5 hectares, including preserving evidence of the unnumbered train, building a new large square, building a martyrs' temple, an exhibition house, a green park and other auxiliary works with a total investment of about 150 billion VND, using entirely the Hai Phong City budget. The project is expected to be completed in 2020.
