In particular, we must consolidate, nurture, protect and develop the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, forever green and everlasting, as affirmed by President Ho Chi Minh : "Vietnam and Laos, our two countries, have a love deeper than the Red River and Mekong River" and President Kaysone Phomvihane: "Mountains may wear away, rivers may dry up, but the Laos-Vietnam friendship will forever be stronger than mountains and rivers".

Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh presented flowers to congratulate the 75th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Military Experts Helping the Lao Revolution.

On behalf of the Party, Government and people of Lao ethnic groups, Mr. Souphanh Hadaoheuang expressed his deep gratitude to the Party, State, Army and People of Vietnam, including the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who shared hardships with the Lao army and people, sacrificed their blood and bones, and fulfilled their international obligations. Many people have considered Laos their second homeland, spending their whole lives fighting and working as experts in many different fields...

The Liaison Committee of Former Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Military Experts Helping the Lao Revolution in Da Nang City presented the 75th Anniversary Book to the Consulate General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Da Nang.

At the program, Colonel Tran Nhu Tiep, Head of the Liaison Committee of Vietnamese Volunteers and Military Experts Helping the Lao Revolution in the city, shared the significance of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Volunteers and Military Experts Helping the Lao Revolution as well as shared about the special friendship and affection that the army and people of Vietnam and Laos have shared together to fight against foreign invaders and gain independence for Laos.

Accordingly, immediately after Vietnam gained independence in 1945, the two governments soon signed the Vietnam-Laos Mutual Assistance Treaty and the Agreement on the organization of the Laos-Vietnam Joint Army. In particular, on October 30, 1949, the Standing Committee of the Indochinese Communist Party decided that the Vietnamese military forces fighting and working to help Laos would be organized into a separate system and named as the Volunteer Army.

This is an important historical milestone, marking the development and maturity of the Vietnamese military forces on the Lao battlefield; affirming the correct line and viewpoint of the Communist Party of Vietnam in carrying out international missions. With that meaning, October 30, 1949 is taken as the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Volunteers and Experts in Laos.
