Along with the whole country, on June 28-29, the 2023 High School Graduation Exam in Kon Tum province took place safely, seriously, objectively, and in accordance with regulations.

In the 2023 high school graduation exam, the whole province has 5,028 candidates registered to take the exam, including 4,862 candidates for the high school program and 116 candidates for the continuingeducation program, 223 independent candidates. Of which, 409 candidates took the exam to get the results for graduation recognition only; 4,434 candidates took the exam to get the results for high school graduation recognition and admission to college and university for preschool teacher training; 185 independent candidates took the exam to get the results for university and college admission only for preschool teacher training.

On the final exam day (June 29), in the morning, candidates took the combined natural science exam (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or the combined social science exam including two components: History, Geography, Civic Education (for candidates studying the general education program at high school level) or the History and Geography component exams (for candidates studying the continuing education program at high school level), each subject takes 50 minutes. In the afternoon, candidates took the Foreign Language exam, with a test time of 60 minutes, of which 4,701 candidates registered for the English exam and 2 candidates registered for the Chinese exam.

According to the records, the contents of the exam are all within the high school curriculum, so they tested basic knowledge, the ability to apply knowledge, and at the same time differentiated the levels of the test takers. The exam questions for Foreign Languages, Physics, Biology, History, Geography... met the requirements of multiple choice exams.

Candidate U Thiet, a 12th grader at Dak Ha Ethnic Minority High School, said: I am happy to see that the social science exam is not too difficult. The exam is not too long, within my ability, the questions are also short and easy to understand. I will get over 6 points for History and Geography each, I can do all of them, I give myself over 8 points for Civic Education. The exam will help me make up for the points I got from the Literature exam the day before, because I did not do well.

Breathing a sigh of relief after completing the exams well, candidate Nguyen Thanh Chan, a 12th grade student at Kon Tum High School, happily said: In general, I found this year's exam not too difficult. However, I am not very satisfied with my exams. In the structure of this year's exam, there is also differentiation, accounting for about 10% to 15% of the questions that are gradually more difficult. If I graded all the exams myself, I would get 7 to 8 points, except for the Literature exam, which only got 5 to 6 points.

Teacher Pham Dai Canh - Head of Examination Site No. 2 of Kon Tum High School said: The examination site has 23 examination rooms with 534 candidates. Of the 2 absent candidates, 1 candidate was exempted from all subjects and 1 candidate was an independent candidate. After 2 days of taking place, the 2023 High School Graduation Exam at Examination Site No. 2 took place safely and seriously. The Examination Council followed the plan set out by the Steering Committee, not allowing any violations to occur during the examination and test taking process.

Before the exam, security, order, and food safety were also major concerns, but no incidents occurred. Other departments such as electricity, information and communication, exam support, etc. all performed their tasks well, creating peace of mind for candidates to take the exam. In particular, for candidates with difficulties, ethnic minority candidates in remote areas, etc., localities have also implemented positive solutions such as arranging transportation, reasonable accommodation, and supporting food expenses for candidates.

The 2023 high school graduation exam in Kon Tum has ended. According to the assessment of the Department of Education and Training, up to this point, 12/12 examination councils have completed their important task of organizing a rigorous exam, strictly supervising in all stages, honestly, objectively, meeting the requirements of both graduation for candidates and serving as a basis for universities and colleges to consider admission more accurately.
