On the afternoon of April 17th, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Vo Ngoc Hiep, along with leaders of various departments and agencies and the Da Lat City People's Committee, conducted an inspection and assessment of properties and land in Da Lat City that are expected to be allocated to serve the provincial-level administrative unit reorganization project.
The properties inspected included: Hoa Binh Village, the Health Protection Board for Cadres, the former headquarters of the Department of Transport, the School for the Deaf, the Lawyers' Association, the Da Lat University student dormitory, the Da Lat Vocational College dormitory, the former Lam Dong College of Economics and Technology, the headquarters of the Religious Affairs and Emulation and Commendation Board, the headquarters of the People's Committee of Ward 3, Da Lat City, and the Empress Hotel (Da Lat City).
Most of these facilities are currently surplus, unused, and have suitable functions and locations that can be repaired or upgraded to serve the working and living needs of staff and employees after the merger.
Previously, on April 14, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh signed Decision No. 759/QD-TTg approving the Project on Rearranging and Reorganizing Administrative Units at all Levels and Building a Two-Tier Local Government Organization Model.
According to the plan, Dak Nong, Binh Thuan, and Lam Dong provinces will merge into one new province called Lam Dong, with its administrative and political center located in Da Lat city, Lam Dong province. This province will have the largest natural area in the country, at 24,233 km2, and a population of 3,324,400 people.
