For the first time, O Dien commune organized a volleyball tournament.

This is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025 and National Day (September 2, 2045 - September 2, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Cultural Sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025), and to welcome the success of the 1st Congress of the O Dien Commune Party Committee, term 2025-2030.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Culture - Information and Sports Center of O Dien Commune, Bui Thi Quyen, said that physical exercise is a "precious medicine" to improve the health of each person. President Ho Chi Minh once reminded that physical exercise is the duty of every patriotic citizen. Each healthy citizen contributes to the health of the whole country. He always hopes that everyone is healthy to build a prosperous and happy life.

Over the years, all levels, sectors and people in O Dien commune have always focused on practicing suitable sports and established many sports clubs, including volleyball clubs. Every year, the locality organizes volleyball tournaments from villages, residential clusters, residential groups to commune level tournaments...

The 2025 volleyball tournament of the commune attracted 27 teams from 27 villages, residential clusters, and residential groups in the area with 270 athletes competing in 3 events: Women's team group 1 (30-45 years old); Women's team group 2 (46-60 years old); Men's team group 1 (35-50 years old).

Through the tournament, O Dien commune hopes to create conditions for athletes from agencies, villages, residential areas, residential groups, etc. to exchange, learn, build solidarity, and share experiences in life as well as work. Thereby, improving health, promoting the movement of physical exercise and sports; selecting athletes to participate in training to compete in city-level tournaments.

At the opening ceremony of the tournament, the Organizing Committee requested athletes to compete with all their might, unite, strictly follow the rules of the game, and dedicate themselves to the audience with good and spectacular football matches…; requested referees to work actively, honestly, impartially, and objectively; and fans to cheer enthusiastically for the tournament…

In particular, O Dien commune hopes that through the tournament, it will promote the movement for the whole people to practice sports following the example of great Uncle Ho associated with the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life.
