According to the test-making team, there is only one way to solve this question, which is to apply the formula of the law of radiation. However, when replacing the numbers, candidates can use the correct calculation according to the formula of the law of radiation or apply the formula of the law but replace the approximate value ln2 = 0.693. This leads to two different results.
If the candidate calculates correctly (can calculate in his/her mind), the result is 6400 (test code 0202).
If the candidate applies the formula with the approximate value ln = 0.693 as given in the question, the result is 6401 (question code 0202).
Accordingly, the person who created the test had anticipated both ways of changing the numbers above, so he provided both answers to avoid disadvantages for the candidates.
This is a short answer test so it can handle this. More importantly, the 2025 high school graduation exam aims to assess the learner's ability.
During the solving process, different rounding methods give different results, but they are all approximate values, so the Ministry of Education and Training records both answers for the candidates, creating fairness.
In the history of the National High School Exam and High School Graduation Exam, this is the first time a question has been recognized as having both correct answers.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the 2025 high school graduation exam has gradually implemented the goals of Resolution 29 on fundamental and comprehensive innovationin education and training. That is, "correctly assessing students' abilities, as a basis for vocational education and university admissions".
In particular, the exam has increased the number of differentiating questions to limit the shortcomings of previous years, when the exam had few questions to classify, causing difficulties in enrollment, so many universities had to organize their own exams, which were costly.
