Spreading national pride and patriotism.

The more than 4,000-year history of nation-building and national defense has proven that love for one's homeland and national pride are the red thread running through it all, the spiritual strength that helps our people overcome all difficulties and challenges, maintain independence and sovereignty, and create great achievements.

Throughout that journey, literature and art have always accompanied the times, both reflecting and nurturing patriotism, spreading national strength.

As our country enters a new stage of development, the role of [the organization/organization] becomes increasingly important in fostering pride, strengthening cultural identity, and nurturing the aspiration for progress among Vietnamese people.

The flame spreads patriotism.

Looking back at the literary and artistic activities of the past period, especially the first nine months of 2025, it is clear that the vibrant flame of patriotism continues to be ignited through many diverse forms. A prime example is the political and artistic program "The Homeland in Our Hearts," organized by the Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Hanoi People's Committee to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd. Even after nearly a month, it still resonates deeply with the public.

The moment 50,000 spectators at My Dinh National Stadium stood up and sang the national anthem with heroic spirit is a vivid testament to the power of community cohesion and national pride that art contributes to.

Similarly, a series of large-scale art programs such as "Under the Glorious Flag," "V Concert - Radiant Vietnam," "Hanoi - From the Historic Autumn of 1945," "Independence Star: For a Prosperous Vietnam," "Vietnam in My Heart,"... or music videos: "Vietnam Proudly Stepping Towards the Future" (Nguyen Van Chung, Tung Duong), "Made in Vietnam" (produced by DTAP with the participation of People's Artist Thanh Hoa, Truc Nhan and Phuong My Chi),... have ignited a spirit of national pride through modern, captivating music , full of optimism and enthusiasm.

Notably, the collaboration between veteran and young artists affirms that patriotism is an enduring value that needs to be passed down between generations.

In the field of literature, the program "Poems That Shape the Nation" introduces representative works of Vietnamese revolutionary poetry through various periods; associated with names such as Nguyen Dinh Thi, Nguyen Khoa Diem, Chinh Huu, Le Anh Xuan, Nguyen Duc Mau… and has received great public attention.

The program is a tribute to the generations who fought for national peace and a message to the younger generation about patriotism, gratitude for their roots, and upholding the values built by their ancestors.

In the field of theater, the Cai Luong play "From Viet Bac to Hanoi" and the spoken drama "The Heart of a Guide " about President Ho Chi Minh authentically and vividly recreated the nation's history. In the field of fine arts, the exhibition "Children of the Fatherland" displayed 80 works about people who dedicated their youth to the country, bringing gratitude, emotion, and pride to today's generations.

In cinema, films like "Tunnels: The Sun in the Darkness" and "Red Rain," which explore the theme of revolutionary war, have also had a positive impact on the community. These works share a common feature: innovative and diverse forms of expression. They not only recount historical events but also involve viewers in the historical journey, thereby honoring cultural and historical values, expressing national pride, and creating widespread influence in life.

Strengthening the national spirit

Our Party has long recognized literature and art as a very important and particularly subtle field of culture; it is one of the great driving forces directly contributing to building the spiritual foundation of society. Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW dated June 16, 2008, of the Politburo on continuing to build and develop literature and art in the new era, and Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW dated June 9, 2014, of the 9th Conference of the Central Committee of the Party (11th term) on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development, both emphasize the role of literature and art in arousing patriotism, self-reliance, and building a comprehensively developed Vietnamese person.

In the context of deep international integration, Vietnamese culture faces intense interaction with world cultures. This presents both an opportunity to affirm its identity and a challenge against the risk of assimilation. Therefore, literature and art have a great mission in strengthening the spiritual foundation of society. Poet Huu Thinh shared: “Literature and art are a pilgrimage to the roots of the nation; they have the meaning of educating patriotism, self-reliance, and national pride. They are the spiritual baggage that helps us move forward, standing shoulder to shoulder with humanity.”

When national pride is nurtured through literature and art, it doesn't just remain an emotion but also spreads into concrete actions. A generation of young people inspired by films, songs, and literary works about national history will be more confident in entrepreneurship, creativity, and nation-building. A nation bound together by love for its homeland will have greater strength and unity to overcome difficulties, natural disasters, and epidemics. It is no coincidence that during the most challenging times for the nation, from the years of fierce war to the period of reform or the nationwide fight against Covid-19, literature and art have always resonated to boost morale, strengthen faith, and encourage the community to overcome challenges.

According to Professor Dinh Xuan Dung, fostering patriotism through the power of literature and art is an essential task for a genuine literary and artistic tradition. However, the new era demands a higher and deeper level of fulfillment of this task, posing an objective challenge requiring new capabilities and creative thinking. Today's audience demands that literature and art express and explore the patriotism of the Vietnamese people in a new depth, using appropriate methods. To further enhance the role of literature and art in fostering patriotism and increasing national pride in the new era, a comprehensive set of solutions needs to be implemented. First, the State needs to continue improving mechanisms and policies, investing in and supporting creativity, organizing major competitions and exhibitions, encouraging themes related to national history and culture; establishing creative funds and talent incubators, and promoting the application of modern technology in literature and art.

It is necessary to recognize that worthwhile investment in literature and art is not only about supporting creative work but also about investing in the national spiritual foundation. Furthermore, a diverse promotional strategy is needed, ranging from mass media to digital platforms, to reach all segments of society, expand internationally, and affirm Vietnam's position. Simultaneously, attention should be paid to building an audience – a public with aesthetic sensibilities. Integrating literature and art into school education, organizing numerous experiential activities and exchanges between artists and students, will help to naturally and sustainably cultivate a patriotic taste in the younger generation.

From the perspective of artists and writers, it is essential to clearly understand their mission in the creative process: not only to satisfy personal creative needs but also to inspire, nurture faith, and foster national pride. When the State, artists, and the public work together, literature and art will truly become a soft power, spreading Vietnamese values to the world and contributing to building a strong and prosperous Vietnam.
