The Canada - Vietnam Cultural and Educational Council (CVCEC) in collaboration with the Cultural and Educational Resources Development Connection Organization under the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Oxford College Canada organized a series of exchange events, seminars and art performances in Toronto.
At the workshop “Connecting Journey: From Vietnamese Lotus to Canadian Maple Leaf”, CVCEC founding director Phan Thi Quynh Trang shared with VNA reporters in Canada that when the image of the Lotus - the national flower of Vietnam - is connected with the Maple Leaf - the symbol of Canada - that is when the journey of humane connection is initiated. She believes that culture andeducation will be a sustainable bridge connecting the communities and young generations of the two countries.
During this event, CVCEC and a number of organizations operating in the field of culture and education such as the Vietnam Etiquette and Style Academy (PAVI) and the Association of International Brand and Image Consultants (AICI) Vietnam signed a memorandum of cooperation to promote future cultural projects.

One of the key projects being implemented by the parties is the Vietnamese Cultural Exhibition at the Royal Ontario Museum, scheduled to take place in late 2025, marking the first time a large-scale Vietnamese cultural exhibition has been presented at one of Canada's leading museums.
Former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Phu Binh, Chairman of the Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese, said that initiatives like this event are a testament to the strong bond between the global Vietnamese community and the homeland. Strengthening cultural exchange activities, especially in Canada - a multicultural and humanitarian country - will contribute practically to promoting the image of Vietnam to the world .
The above event is expected to not only open up a space for intimate exchange between the community of people who love culture and education, but also create conditions for domestic and international organizations and experts to discuss educational cooperation models, towards sustainable development and international integration.
In the cultural and artistic exchange program in collaboration with Oxford College High School, young Vietnamese students had the opportunity to express their feelings and gratitude through singing to send back to their homeland.
Nguyen Minh Phu, a 10th grade international student, shared that participating in this program is an honor and pride for Vietnamese people living far from home.
This friend believes that his younger generation is always deeply grateful to the previous generations who sacrificed so that they could study and grow up in peace.
This event is considered an opportunity for the Vietnamese student community in Canada to express their deep gratitude and appreciation to previous generations who sacrificed for independence, peace and national reunification, and also to demonstrate Vietnamese cultural identity and the mission of the young Vietnamese generation abroad in preserving, promoting and spreading national values.
Representatives of Oxford College Canada expressed their impression of the spirit of connection and creativity of Vietnamese students, and affirmed that the school is always ready to support students in their learning and personal development process in Canada.
These two events clearly depict the spirit of “remembering the source of water” and the determination to reach out to the world of the young generation of Vietnam that CVCEC has nurtured and implemented. Currently, this organization is acting as a bridge between domestic schools and schools and educational institutions in Canada to help Vietnamese students achieve their dreams of studying abroad.
In 2024, CVCEC supported the enrollment of 20 summer camp students from Doan Thi Diem School and 6 high school students, all with scholarships ranging from 3,000 - 7,000 CAD. This year, they have just coordinated with FPT High School to prepare to send 100 students to attend the STEM summer camp in collaboration with the University of Ottawa.
