In response to the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2024, Brigade 146, Naval Region 4 organized a reading activity for officers, soldiers and professional soldiers throughout the unit.

The response activities will last until May 1, with the message: "Books, an infinite treasure of knowledge", "Don't let knowledge go to waste" to 100% of officers and soldiers. Thereby, widely propagating to officers and soldiers to deeply understand the purpose, meaning and importance of reading; spreading the value of reading culture throughout the unit.

At cultural reading spaces such as the library, Ho Chi Minh room, common rooms on the islands... The Brigade introduces and displays over 1,000 books about the revolutionary career of the Party and Uncle Ho; books on the theme of liberating the South and unifying the country (April 30, 1975), the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu (May 7, 1954); learning about the islands of the Fatherland; the history and glorious traditions of the heroic Vietnam People's Army and Navy; the traditions of Region 4, the traditions of Brigade 146 and the islands in the Truong Sa archipelago.

According to the plan, Brigade 146 launched an online group reading model for officers and professional soldiers, each group of 10 to 100 members organized and shared videos introducing books and articles for members to follow. The offline group organized for officers and soldiers to read books, listen to books read together, assigning officers to be group leaders to maintain time for reading, exchanging and discussing. In addition, mobilize officers and soldiers to donate books to enrich the unit's bookshelf.

Book and Reading Culture Day aims to widely propagate to officers and soldiers a deep awareness of the great significance and importance of reading for the development of knowledge, thinking, life skills, contributing to building a good and healthy cultural environment in the Army. From there, consider books as a companion, a means of supplementing knowledge, self-study and research to improve oneself, striving to be worthy of the title "Uncle Ho's soldiers - Navy soldiers".
