Cua Van fishing village nestles on the cliffs in Ha Long Bay
Located on Ha Long Bay, Cua Van fishing village is surrounded by limestone mountains with green trees all year round. The small fishing village with floating houses on the clear blue sea has about 700 residents. Children born here also studied at a floating school. All activities take place on the water and this place has long been a special attraction for visitors who want to explore the unique life of the residents.
Visitors to Cua Van fishing village, besides admiring the poetic natural scenery, can also experience the life of fishermen and enjoy the captivating sea songs.
Since 2014, Quang Ninh province has brought fishermen to the shore to ensure social security. However, the fishing village is still kept for tourism exploitation. Every day, fishermen come to Cua Van to live and catch seafood, row boats to take tourists, and return to the mainland in the evening.
In the fishing village, there is also the Cua Van Floating Cultural Center located in the Tung Sau area on Ha Long Bay. With more than 1,500 artifacts and documents, this place is considered a "museum" of the world heritage Ha Long Bay.

Cua Van fishing village originated from the ancient fishing villages of Giang Vong and Truc Vong. The name Cua Van is explained by the fact that the village is located in a majestic rocky mountain area and has an entrance, and the word Van refers to fishermen.
