Prioritizing investment in developing Dong Dang Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone: Rapid and sustainable development of border gate economy |
Speaking with reporters of the Industry and Trade Newspaper, Mr. Hoang Khanh Duy, Deputy Head of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone (Management Board) said that the unit has developed a plan to visit and wish Happy New Year to cargo owners and drivers who want to celebrate the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024 at border gates in the province.
Accordingly, the Management Board will give each gift worth 800 thousand VND. In addition, the parking lots also create all conditions and support for cargo owners and drivers. Every year, any vehicle that stays will be supported by the parking lot owners with necessities, support with reduced living expenses, and parking fees.
Mr. Duy said that two years ago, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, nearly 200 cargo owners and drivers celebrated Tet at border gates, mainly at Huu Nghi and Tan Thanh border gates.
“Two years ago, due to the pandemic, drivers were reluctant to travel, so there were many people celebrating Tet at the border gates. However, this year, the pandemic has ended, so it is not possible to specifically assess the number of drivers registering. The Management Board is also promoting the campaign, if the owners and drivers wish to stay, they can register,” Mr. Duy added.

According to Mr. Duy, activities at the border gate are still very active, with 450-500 vehicles per day. It will take about a week to have a specific number of registered drivers.
According to the plan, the Management Board will visit and wish Happy New Year to cargo owners and long-distance drivers whose vehicles carrying export goods are parked and staying at border gate areas (Huu Nghi, Chi Ma, Tan Thanh, Coc Nam, Na Hinh, Na Nua) who cannot return to their localities in time to celebrate the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024.
The program is announced through many forms such as loudspeakers, announcements to vehicles, on zalo groups of import-export enterprises. Shippers and long-distance drivers cannot return to their localities in time. Accordingly, the registration period to stay at border gates to celebrate Lunar New Year is from February 1 to February 5, 2024.
As planned, the budget is expected to come from the fee collection for vehicles transporting goods to the port without entering the inland according to Resolution 01/2019/NQ-HDND dated July 12, 2019, collected by the Border Gate Management Center and retained according to the regulations of the Border Gate Management Center. In addition, the budget also comes from contributions and support from organizations, individuals and businesses.
