Dak Lak leaders urgently directed the case of 6 teachers who won the lawsuit but the sentence has not been executed after 4 years.

On the afternoon of September 17, Mr. Truong Cong Thai, Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, directed the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs to urgently report the case of 6 teachers who won the lawsuit against the People's Committee of Krong Pac district (old) but after 4 years the judgment has not been enforced.

According to the Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, the case has been going on since 2022 but has not been resolved yet, which is too long and needs to be resolved. Mr. Thai raised the issue that whoever did wrong must pay out of their own pocket, why is the budget used to pay? However, to grasp the whole matter, Mr. Thai requested the two departments above to coordinate and urgently report the content of the case to the Provincial People's Committee before September 20 for direction on how to resolve it.

Previously, in 2021 and 2022, realizing that their contracts were terminated illegally, 6 teachers filed two lawsuits in court over labor contract disputes. The two-level People's Court of Dak Lak province accepted and tried the case. The plaintiffs were 6 teachers and the defendants were Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Secondary School, Ea Kly Secondary School and the People's Committee of Krong Pac district (old).

Accordingly, the People's Court sentenced the defendants to jointly pay the 6 teachers more than 1.4 billion VND, along with interest.

Although the verdict has come into effect, it has not yet been carried out. Many teachers have to work odd jobs to make ends meet.

Teachers whose labor contracts were illegally terminated have to do all kinds of jobs to make a living.

In October 2023, the People's Committee of Krong Pac District (old) submitted a document to the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province and the Department of Finance requesting an additional amount of more than 2.1 billion VND to pay teachers who terminated their labor contracts at Ea Kly Secondary School and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Secondary School. However, according to the leader of the Department of Finance, the People's Committee of Krong Pac District (old) must find the funding for compensation.

Up to now, when implementing the 2-level local government, the judgment has not been implemented. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Da, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province, said that the current authority to resolve the case belongs to the People's Committee of Ea Kly commune (where the 2 schools are located).

The Department of Education and Training has sent a document requesting the Ea Kly Commune People's Committee to report on this matter. According to the report of the Ea Kly Commune People's Committee, the Commune People's Committee has not yet received any documents and related information from the Krong Pac District People's Committee (formerly) about the incident. At the same time, the Commune People's Committee has not yet been allocated funds to pay the 6 teachers according to the court's verdict.
