Leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Ethnic Committee met with ethnic minorities in 14 northern provinces.

The conference was chaired by Mr. Do Van Chien - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; Mr. Hau A Lenh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister, Chairman of the Ethnic Committee; Mr. Do Duc Duy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Yen Bai province; Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Anh - Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.

The conference was attended by leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of 14 provinces: Ha Giang , Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Bac Giang, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Hoa Binh and 64 delegates who are ethnic minorities in the region.

Since the beginning of 2023, the production and living conditions of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas in the midland and mountainous provinces of the Northern Delta have been basically stable. Policies, programs, and projects, focusing on National Target Programs, continue to receive attention from localities to promote implementation and promote effectiveness.

Speaking at the conference, Yen Bai Provincial Party Secretary Do Duc Duy quickly informed the conference that since the beginning of the term, Yen Bai has issued and implemented many resolutions, projects, and policies on socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, combined with actively organizing and implementing national target programs for the period 2021-2025. In particular, priority is given to allocating over 12,000 billion VND for socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. In particular, focusing on supporting production, investing in infrastructure construction, education, health care, poverty reduction, new rural construction, etc. Thanks to that, the socio -economic development in the mountainous areas of the province has had positive developments, improving day by day.

This is a forum for ethnic minorities to express their thoughts, aspirations, recommendations and proposals to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and central agencies on policies, solutions for socio-economic development. It is also an opportunity for localities to exchange, learn and share experiences in order to effectively implement ethnic work and ethnic policies in the coming time.

At the Conference, delegates representing ethnic minorities in the Northern Midlands and Mountains expressed their trust in the Party and the State. At the same time, they raised many thoughts, aspirations, recommendations and proposals to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and central agencies on issues related to: Poverty reduction; policies to support start-ups, create jobs for ethnic minority workers; improve the quality of grassroots cadres, especially ethnic minority cadres...

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Do Van Chien - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front emphasized: The Party and the State, directly and regularly, local authorities pay special attention to investing in socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
