Accordingly, the inspection period is 3 working days, from May 7 to May 9. The inspection period is from January 1, 2024 to the date of issuance of this decision and other periods related to the inspection content.
The 10-member inspection team led by Mr. Do Hong Cam, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, will inspect ticket sales, declarations, and listing of airfares at airlines.
Previously, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang requested relevant units to review and check airfares.
Accordingly, recently, the high airfares of domestic airlines have directly affected people's travel needs, especially during peak periods such as the recent April 30 and May 1 holidays.
In order to strengthen State management, strictly control airfares, contribute to price stabilization, and ensure the harmony of socio -economic development goals in accordance with the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Transport requests the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to urgently review and inspect ticket sales, declare and post prices, and publicize and transparently disclose information on airfares of airlines.
In case of detecting any irregularities, the Department must promptly direct, rectify and immediately handle violations within its authority (if any). At the same time, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam shall organize inspections and checks on ticket sales, declaration and price posting of airlines, and absolutely not allow the situation of ticket price increases contrary to regulations.
The Minister requested the Department of Transport to proactively monitor and promptly advise the Ministry to direct agencies and units to strengthen the inspection of transport activities and passenger services, enhance solutions to best serve people's travel needs, stabilize ticket prices, and prevent illegal ticket price increases, especially during the upcoming summer peak season, on the principle of harmonizing the interests and rights of businesses and the needs of the people.
Minister Nguyen Van Thang requested the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and the Department of Transport to urgently implement and report the implementation results to the Ministry of Transport before May 10, 2024.
Recently, public opinion has reflected the situation of high airfares, especially during holidays. After the Lunar New Year 2024, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam also sent a document to Vietnam Airlines , Vietjet, Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines, Vietravel Airlines requesting a report on airfare sales.
